“Beautiful trip to the Vineyard”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 1 August 2014

We picked the Steamship Authority out of Woods Hole to get us to Martha's Vineyard because it was the cheapest and quickest way to get us there. It was a beautiful day and we had no complaints. Air conditioning and food inside or stay outside on one of the benches to enjoy the weather. The whole operation ran like a well oiled machine. Would definitely travel this way again!

“Quick and easy trip”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 28 July 2014

For passengers only, its a no hassle trip. Dealing with cars and parking may be an issue. We were dropped off at the terminal walked up to a no-line ticket window and purchased two round trip tickets in less time that it is taking me to type this.

Boarding went smoothly and quickly, we were met on the Vineyard by a friend and walked up to his place. Return trip, just as easy get in a brief line and walk on. Walked off in Woods Hole.

The weather was nice on both trips so we sat outside. Lots of people with dogs to watch walking on the decks! Fun!.

“Take the High Speed”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 27 July 2014

My family used The Steamship Authority High Speed boat to visit Nantucket. The boat has a nice seating area, several flat screen tvs and lots of snacks to enjoy. The ride was about an hour and a half and very smooth. A few months ago, I used the Steamship Traditional to get to Martha's Vineyard. The traditional was okay and did the job, but I definitely prefer the High Speed. The cost is more, but worth it.

“Close to the Woods Hole Inn”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 26 July 2014

We took the Ferry across to MV and it was just that...a ferry. The experience was fine and the price in line with expectations. The schedule was a little confusing and we ended up missing the boat we wanted to take back but that wasn't a real big deal because we were coming back a little early...it would have been if we were aiming for the last trip of the day. We walked on; no bikes or car which made the process much quicker.

“Have your camera ready”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 25 July 2014

This was a quick and efficient trip - only 45 minutes.

The views were great, especially coming into Martha's Vineyard. Lots of lighthouses and gorgeous mansions to snap.

If you can get away from the loud TVs permanently set on terrible talk shows, it's a quiet and smooth ride.
