This restaurant overlooks the harbor with plenty of windows to enjoy the colorful sky at sunset. The scallops tasted very good and the portion was surprisingly large. The steak tips dinner was also tasty. Ask for the 2 for 1 deal anytime. It's not advertised but our inn keeper gave us this suggestion. The restaurant has a large seating area with an amazing array of souvenirs hanging from the ceiling - including a very, very, very ancient urn. The waitress was very friendly and attentive. We enjoyed our dinner here.

Stopped here for lunch and I was extremely pleased with the food and staff. (Kate is a great waitress) we had lobster bisque, fillet mignon, and some domestic beverages and the entire experience was great. The fillet was correctly cooked and all of the food and sides were excellent. The general "by the ocean" atmosphere was very inviting. Again staff and restaurant get and A+ review.

We first ate here when we were staying at a Woods Hole inn, catching a ferry to Vineyard Haven the next morning, and got a recommendation as a place for a "lobster dinner". Great location, always seems to be crowded whe we travel through (always in September), good service especially considering how crowded it often is. When we arrive it is usually after an 11 hour car trip, we are hungry, thirsty, all we want to do is relax and start our vacation, and have never had a bad expereince starting off a New England trip at the Landfall.

The Landfall Restaurant is very good under specific circumstances. As locals, we go there several times during the summer and early fall months. We always use the 2 for 1 newspaper coupon because the regular prices are simply too high for the food provided. We also go only for lunch which they serve to a very late afternoon hour. In the late fall, you can actually watch the sunset over the water after a late lunch.

The chowder is very good as is the lobster. Most of the time, the scallops are also very well prepared. We had just one instance when they were slightly undercooked. I always order a variation on the regular menu, which they are always happy to provide. They have a delicious cajun swordfish sandwich that I order with boursin cheese even though the cheese is officially listed only on the chicken sandwich.

Our service has always been fine. The waitstaff is very friendly and pleasant. Yes, the parking can be a nuisance, although we always park close by knowing that we need to bring six quarters with us. Actually, the bar is very happy to make change if you ask.

Given these factors, we will continue going to the Landfall as part of our summer ritual each year unless they stop the coupons.
