Love to walk Water Street in Woods Hole. The Fishmonger restaurant is right at The Draw Bridge. Lots of people and boat watching. Very good food! Love the breakfast!!

“Long time favorite”
Reviewed 28 May 2014

In a touristy place like Woods Hole, where travelers pass through quickly for the ferry, you can't necessarily find a good place to eat, but Fishmonger has consistently been a very good place since I first came here decades ago. No outdoor seating, but good, fresh fish, good salads, good beer, good desserts at prices that are not cheap but also not a rip-off and a nice relaxed atmosphere. Other places in town are fancier, but not necessarily any better; this remains my favorite for lunch or dinner.

“Great food and service!”
Reviewed 24 May 2014

This restaurant, right by the Drawbridge in Woods Hole, has a fairly varied menu and everything we tried (on a number of visits) was good! You get nice views of the water and can watch ships coming in and out of Eel Pond under the drawbridge. Fun! They have cool T-shirts too!

“Friendly service but overpriced and bland”
Reviewed 20 May 2014

The food was well prepared and arrived quickly. We stopped because as a family with a toddler, we don't always have the flexibility to delay a meal to look for a better value. We were well aware that eating in Wood's Hole would be a pricey proposition but it was still a shock to spend 45 dollars on a sandwich with fries, a small flatbread pizza and kid's meal that consisted of tiny fried fish nuggets and fries. If you have to eat in Wood's Hole you could probably do worse but if you can, go to Falmouth. The larger number of restaurants helps to keep prices a bit more reasonable

“What We Needed”
Reviewed 7 April 2014

We checked in a little early to head over to MV and we chose to find a place to grab a quick bite to eat. We found FishMonger to be open (off-season) so we went in and grab a seat at the bar.
My wife ordered the clam chowda and I had the black bean chili. Both were tasty and took care of our appetite till we made it over to the island. We also order a bloody mary to wash it all down and that was really good too.
The service was polite and courteous.
A hot meal and a nice beverage just what we needed.
I say this in all due respect, the fishmonger is a nice little dive bar/eatery. I would go back again and try something new.
