The Edward Gorey House was a great stop on our New England vacation. His home sits in beautiful Yarmouth Port, Massachusetts, and it is on a quiet little street right off of 6A. It is a small museum/celebration to honor Gorey's wonderful and unique mind and art. On display are hundreds of drawings, a lot of his jewelry (which he wore when it wasn't even the fashion to do so), and various pieces of art for sale.
Visitors literally walk through his home where much of the area is just as he left it. The kitchen was an eerie place because it looked like someone just cleaned the dishes, put them away, and went out for a stroll. It is nearly exactly as he left it. Of course, he is best known for his many artistic works in books and film and as a lover of good art and history, this place was well worth the trip!
