“Good food and attentive service”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 6 October 2013 via mobile

In the Cape Cod Times on Thursday there was a good review of Anthony's Cummaquid Inn. The last time we had been there was in 1986, when it was packed with customers, and we had thought about going recently, but wondered if it had closed, despite seeing the sign when we drove by on Route 6A. We made reservations, and arrived to find about 10 tables occupied. The $25 three course dinner was a great deal. The entrees on that menu were lobster, filet mignon, and salmon. We had the filets, both cooked to perfection at different temperatures. The popovers they came with the appetizers were wonderful. While the inn needs some refurbishment, the meals were excellent, and the service was good: not too fast and not too slow. The $25 dinner is a great value.

“wonderful dining experience”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 4 October 2013

Three of us had an early dinner at the Inn last Sunday after a concert. We had a table by large windows overlooking the water in a pastoral setting. We were served drinks and house appetizers very quickly. Our dinners : steak, prime rib, and fish, were all perfectly cooked and delicious. Nothing fancy, but very good. Service very good for dinner and then dessert and our check. The Inn is an old building with history, the kind of place we relish. And it was quiet so that we could actually talk with each other. I highly recommend them.

“Don't go for the food or the service!”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 24 September 2013

We were part of a party of seven who went to Anthony's for their advertised prix fixe dinner featuring lobster. Our table had a lovely view but things went downhill from there. The waiter mixed up two martini drinks and didn't seem bothered by that. Then we ordered dinner including three lobster specials. After about ten minutes the waiter returned to tell us that they had no more lobster; it seemed strange since it was only about 7:15pm but we asked if we could substitute an item from the regular menu for the prix fixe price since the prix fixe choices were limited. He said no; we asked politely to speak with a manager. The waiter returns a few minutes later and asks us for our dinner orders again. When we said we were still waiting to speak with a manager, the waiter said and I quote, "what an [--]". Wow! We got up to leave, still shocked at that outburst; no one from the restaurant came over to see what was going on.
As noted in other reviews, the restaurant seems tired and dingy inside and wasn't very busy. With such poor customer service, it's no wonder. There are plenty of other places nearby in Barnstable and Yarmouth to get lobster, and it is served with a smile.

“Great food, beautiful view”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 8 September 2013

I've not eaten at an Anthony's restaurant for 30 years, however, some of my finer dining experiences were at one of these establishments. We had the 3-course meal at the Cummaquid Inn. The food was fabulous and the view, spectacular. The service was moderately paced, as it is supposed to be for a 'dining' experience vs. food in a rush. Plan to go back when on the Cape again.

“Good lobster special”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 28 August 2013

The view was beautiful. The food was pretty good, but not wonderful. Nice ambience slong with a piano player. The service was okay. Poor waitress was running around and did her best to keep everything going. Great limoncello dessert.
