“Excellent Service”

The staff couldn’t have been more helpful and friendly. The hotel was in a good location for Bay City. It had a great breakfast room with make your own waffles, and there were always chocolate chip cookies at the desk! There was new bedding on the queen size bed and 5 pillows each so that was great. On the down side and this is nit picking, the pool was a bit cool and the hot tub a bit hot. The furniture in the room was worn and needed to be replaced.

Clean rooms, comfortable beds. We were on the 3rd floor in the corner which was quiet.
Elevator was "shut down" for a day. The male desk clerk was only allowing adults on it. This hotel was team friendly until his shift. Once he left, the elevator signs were taken down.

Breakfast well stocked and plenty to eat. bagels, waffles, toast, english muffins, pastries, apples, packaged oatmeal, boxed cereal, milk, apple juice, orange juice, bacon/egg biscuit sandwiches, coffee and a large selection of teas
Free internet connection in room and a computer access in the lobby
Ask for Stephanie at the front desk for anything you need. The others aren't as friendly or helpful.

Mall and restaurants all within walking distance of hotel.
No laundry facilities on site
snack machine and pop machine
one small ice maker
3 floors --- so if the mean guy shuts down the elevator that is a lot of walking to the 3rd floor!
Pool---average size.
1st day VERy OVER chlorinated and hot tub scalding. Second day they adjusted everything after complaints
No Fitness center---they offered free access to one 2 miles away, but I'm not THAT motivated!

They had cookies out until our teams with kids started arriving and then they never offered them again!!!

My wife and I stayed here 11/22-11/24. While this is a decent hotel, I felt there is some room for improvement. I've been told the hotel has gone through some updates lately, but the furniture in particular show that the process is hopefully not complete. The hallways also give an impression of this being an older hotel.

However, the pool and hot tub were both okay, even though the hot tub only had one working jet. Also, I am thankful they have the 11pm-12pm adult only swim time. On the second night, there were a group of boys swimming that were unbearably loud. Not the hotels fault for the noise, but just a good reason for the adult swim time.

Also, the breakfast in the morning was fairly good, but I would recommend getting there before the last hour of it. It can get pretty packed towards the end. Also, the hotel did lack any type of booklet that showed hours and such for different aspects of the hotel. For the price, I would still recommend this hotel.

  • Liked — Adult swim time and free breakfast.
  • Disliked — Overall impression of being run down.

Nice little place. Front desk was friendly. Room very clean. Bed comfortable. Above average for the price - a good value.

Two small problems - frig was so loud we had to unplug it and people smoking in this non-smoking hotel - which we seem to find to be the case even in the best hotels.

  • Liked — Clean
  • Disliked — Noisey Frig

I would recommend this hotel to everyone. We originally planned to stay at the Americinn for the entire Labor Day weekend. We weren't happy w/that hotel and found the Fairfield. We loved this place!
The beds were comfortable beyond words. Pillows galore adorned the bed. The pool area was clean, the hot tub was hot, everything was great about this place.
The only downfall was the breakfast area was very busy but that is not their fault.

  • Liked — The beds were very comfortable, mall and many restaurants close by.
  • Disliked — Not one thing to complain about.

This was the second time I have stayed at the Fairfirld Inn. My grandmother passed away and the very polite woman at the front desk gave me the berevement rate. The hotel staff have always been really nice and attentive. The only problem was the indoor pool area. The a/c was not working and it was 100 degrees outside. But, I wasn't there to swim.

  • Liked — the beds
  • Disliked — the indoor pool's ac wasn't working
  • Tips/Secrets — They serve a very nice free continental breakfast
