In Charlevoix and Bellaire on business, my husband & I spent only one night at the Bellaire B&B, but it was a great choice. The innkeepers were friendly & helpful; the late 1800's inn is beautifully appointed, with lovely Victorian period furniture; the grounds are park-like; and all was clean and well-kept. We had the Eastlake room, which had French doors that opened onto a private deck with white wicker furniture, which we especially enjoyed. If it matters to you, there was no in-room television, though there was a TV available in one of the common rooms. We enjoyed the late-afternoon wine /cheese/crackers on the porch with the other guests, and breakfast was good, with the innkeepers kindly asking ahead of time about food restrictions / allergies. My only suggestion to the innkeepers is that they either replace the mattress in the Eastlake, or add something to soften it; it was like sleeping on the floor. We definitely will stay here again, however.

Room Tip: The "Main House" rooms are in the original, late 1800's home (bathrooms fully updated...

It is our second visit to Bellaire B &B and we are already planning our next one. It is so lovely; rooms beautifully decorated and comfortable; Jim and Dave are wonderful hosts, tending to smallest detail; breakfasts are delicious with gourmet recipes that they are glad to share. We love the fresh baked cookies in our room each morning and the wine and hors d'oeuvres at cocktail hour served on the veranda/porch.

Room Tip: check the rooms out on the website

We came to the Bellaire Bed and Breakfast for our wedding anniversary. We stayed in the Mackinac room, which was very comfortable. The fireplace was a nice touch, especially on a colder day. Jim and David provided wonderful hospitality, as well as amazing breakfasts each day. We stay at a lot of B&B's, and we would rate this one among the best. We would come back again in a heartbeat.

Room Tip: Rooms in the carriage house are a bit larger.

Beautiful place, a walk's distance away from Short's Brewery. Room was very comfortable with all needed amenities and included a claw food tub shower. Fresh baked cookies at the bedside as promised. Breakfast was outstanding, great price for a comfortable stay and an amazing breakfast.

Room Tip: Convenient to have a room with bathroom attached when making choice.

This place is AWESOME!!! There are too many extras to count. The breakfast is an absolute highlight. We stayed two nights, and wish we had a chance to try more of the breakfast dishes. The social hour at 5:00 is also great. The people staying there seemed so friendly and Jim and David are gracious hosts. We had an excellent choice of wine and snacks. Then go out for dinner. How does a town as small as this have so much to offer!!! LuLu's and Shorts Brew Pub are 5 stars. If you stay here take advantage of the Shorts mug club membership. Order a pizza and have a couple of beers then take the short walk back to Bellaire B&B. What a great evening!!!

The Bellaire Bed and Breakfast was wonderful. When we arrived, Jim, David, and the other guests were sitting on the porch in the shade enjoying a glass of wine and conversation. As soon as we were settled in, we joined Them. Our hosts insured that that the conversations flowed easily and naturally.
We had already made dinner plans- one of the biggest draws for Bellaire is of course, Short's Brewing. So we knew we were heading there for pizza and beer. Turns out, the Bellaire Bed and Breakfast has a mug club membership there, and they can share the benefits with registered guests. Bonus!!
Had we not known where to go, they had many restaurant suggestions (and menus suggestions), as well as shopping advice, activity suggestions, and local tips.

Our room, while one of the smallest and least expensive, was both luxurious and inviting. Everything was spotlessly clean and well thought out in our bathroom. And the bed was so comfortable!
Breakfast in the morning was lovely, with a nice variety served to us family style. Again, our hosts subtly kept the conversations light, breezy and friendly. The check out procedure spiel was a hoot, by the way. We made SURE we left nothing behind in our rooms thanks to the hilarious hints and caveats.
Will we return? Oh yeah.

As it says on the Bellaire Bed & Breakfast logo - - "Above and Beyond." And that is what you will experience at this lovely spot. The grounds and the inn are maintained meticulously and the warmth and hospitality of the innkeepers cannot be surpassed. Whether it is information about area activities or restaurants, Jim and Dave will eagerly assist you to make your stay enjoyable. While every detail is attended to, the breakfasts deserve special mention. This is a great retreat from wherever you need escape.
