We recently took the 2 hour sightseeing cruise on the Keweenaw Star. Tour starts out in dock downtown Charlevoix and takes you through Round Lake out into Lake Charlevoix. You cruise down the Southern shore of the lake to a point a bit less than half way down the lake, then flip and do the North shore. During this part of the cruise you learn a bit about some of the Lake Clubs on the lake and a few facts about Lake Charlevoix itself. Most of the cruise is just pure sightseeing. Looking at the homes of those lucky or wealthy enough to live on the lake.
Last half hour goes through the channel connecting Round Lake to Lake Michigan and takes you out for a brief tour of the big lake. Personally, I would have preferred an extra 30 minutes on Lake Charlevoix. You see a bit of the lake, see a concrete factory and the light house and then turn around and come back.
Overall it is a nice way to spend two hours, but at $20 per person seemed a bit pricey. I wouldn't take the tour again, but would do it over if I had never been on the trip.
