“Perfect location”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 13 August 2014

Close to downtown and to the beach. Just a block from the perfect spot for sunset watching! Charming inn, good food, comfy beds. It was really great to have free-wifi. The proprietor kept checking to make sure we didn't need anything else :)

Room Tip: Ask for a room on the 3rd floor - it's cozy and quiet!

I just recently stayed at The Bridge Street Inn and had a very nice stay. The Inn is just across the drawbridge from the main area, so a short walk to many restaurants and both lakes. The building is in very good condition, even down to the pristine lawn. Inside, the main room and individual rooms are furnished with antiques. The bathroom was newly renovated with a shower and a comfortable feel. The inn has central air conditioning which kept things nice and cool even though I was on the top floor. The inn keeper and staff do a nice job, turning down beds, leaving cookies, and providing wine and cheese in the late afternoon. The breakfast in the morning was cooked and tasty. Overall a great experience.

We had a great stay at the Bridge Street Inn. The rooms were spotless and Debra was a wonderful host too. She made sure that the air conditioning was set to our liking and that we had everything we needed, even fresh baked cookies in our room before bedtime. You could tell that she really takes care of all of her guests needs - I think she's the busiest woman in Charlevoix! And she makes a great quiche for breakfast too!

The hotel is within easy walking distance of downtown with all of it's restaurants and shops.

I wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.

Our stay in the Lake Breeze Suite was very comfortable, clean and roomy. This room is on the second floor and has views of the large side yard. An adjoining sitting room with Lake Michigan views and it's own bathroom with shower complete the space. Air conditioning and free Wifi available. Location can't be beat! A very short walk into downtown, the park, Round Lake harbor and public beach access to Lake Michigan and beautiful sunsets. The Inn Keeper Debra was very pleasant and hospitable. Debra offered organic coffee, real cream and sugars with a plentiful breakfast that each morning included an a variety or juices, an egg dish, fresh fruit and baked bread with local preserves. Debra even accommodated one guest's request for gluten free/wheat free foods. There is a small refrigerator for cold drinks and a basket of snacks available to guests all day. Wine, cheese and crackers were a nice start in the evening before heading out to one of Charlevoix's wonderful restaurants for dinner. If you are expecting the Ritz Carlton then this is not the place for you; it's a turn of the century Victorian home. Just the same, I have stayed in many other hotels and condo's in Charlevoix over the years and these do not compare to the Ritz either. The large "L" shaped porch was a nice shady spot to relax. My only recommendation would be to put some lounge chairs and maybe some lawn games in the big side yard for relaxing in the sun.

Don't be fooled into thinking this is a romantic B&B here, what you're getting is a tired rooming house, with a breakfast that has very little to offer. The coffee was see-through with packs of coffee whitener offered (we found some milk). The rest was just above what you'd expect at a low end chain motel. The bed was good.
The price to value ratio on this place is poor. A room across the street would have cost half as much. We were in the off season and really could have done better.

Our stay at Bridge Street Inn was hands down phenomenal. Conveniently situated between the beautiful view of Lake Michigan from the wrap-around front porch and three buildings from the draw bridge in downtown, makes this location a win-win! This century old home, is just that...a century old! It has an old time charm that is very inviting. The sleeping quarter's were very comfy, and we enjoyed our "Garden View" room. Our Inn Keeper, Rae was superb!! She definitely made our stay extremely pleasant. She went above and beyond our expectations. The owner's are very lucky to have such a great asset. Thank You Rae! This 117-year-old home is a three-story display of antique charm refurbished with creature comforts. The Bridge Street Inn has a beautiful dining room and front parlor, graced with generous windows that provide light throughout the day. The furniture is comfortable, and the antiques are carefully presented to be background rather than statements. While we did not see the second floor, the Bridal Suite on floor three gave the best night's sleep we had enjoyed all week. Excellent bed! Room appointments such as lighting, hair dryer, ice, and such are pretty spare. Would like to see some more afternoon snack food and nibblies available: cakes, cookies, drinks. This establishment is situated on a large lot with green space out back, and a nice patio for drinks or tea in the afternoon. Plumbing is adequate, but don't expect super hotel posh, because it is still a century home. Can't say enough about Rae, the home keeper who was the soul of hospitality and care, and she bakes a great quiche. Outside, a short walk takes you to the lookout for one of Lake Michigan's most stunning sunsets. Don't go empty handed; it's a great finish to a good day with a short glass in hand as the sun melts into the lake, silhouetting a school of boaters who all want to be in your classic photo.
