We stayed here while visiting Chelsea for a performance at that Purple Rose Theatre. It's the perfect location; within easy walking distance of both the theater and restaurants and the inn keepers were more than helpful in answering questions and helping to arrange details. Then our stay at the Chelsea House was an joy in itself. The house is beautifully restored, a living museum from the 19th century, and the breakfast is a treat that you won't find very often.

Spent an absolutely lovely three day get-away celebrating our 29th wedding anniversary at the Chelsea House Victorian Inn, and had an absolutely fabulous experience. Gourmet breakfasts, impeccable accommodations, beauty throughout. Within walking distance of arts organizations including the Purple Rose Theatre, a variety of specialty shops and dining any foodie would love. We highly recommend the Chelsea House Victorian Inn!

Room Tip: The Carriage House is our favorite room, with lots of space and lovely whirlpool bath.

Fantastic stay at this bed and breakfast. The house is fully renovated Victorian style. The owners spend years and years in rebuilding this house to its finest details. They are great guys, take great care of you. Breakfast is the best I ever had, two courses will fill you up for the day.

We thank you for your kindness. Reviewing your stay at our little Bed and Breakfast is very helpful to others who are deciding between a chain hotel and Chelsea House. It also helps us continue to attract guests and sustain the level of care this historic home deserves with all its unique details. Without our guests and their kind acts, our lovely restored home might not be shown off to as many visitors. We hope you enjoyed our downtown restaurants but it sounds like we filled you up enough that dinner was the most that was desired :-). Thank you again for your generosity and safe travels to you. We hope to see you again. Fond Regards.

Excellent from start to finish. Beautiful, old house close to town. Crepes as starter course each morning followed by casserole-style main course dishes. Each one delicious. Room was very inviting with comfortable chairs, period furniture, many decorative touches. Hosts Jim and Kim are warm and welcoming. Our second visit.

What a nice surprise we were in for when we stopped at here on our way to Detroit! Thankfully my hubby agreed too since the Inn was not all country kitchy, fluffy foofy, girly, and pink with lace-so we stayed!
The close proximity allowed us plenty of time to enjoy breakfast before heading out in the morning with no need to sit in rush hour traffic. Jim the owner was so very hospitable. We loved the turndown service, robes, slippers, bottled water, chocolates and all of the suggestions and conversation with Jim. The resotration of the Inn was done by Jim and the photos of before and after were wonderful to see. Arriving here after a snowy morning drive from Green Bay, WI we were glad to enjoy walking around this lovely town; just wish we'd have been here when it was any day but a Monday, as most things are closed....we'd certainly come back if in the area...we live in Spain so not likely any time too soon sadly. if you have time, stop here for two nights minimum and enjoy the relaxation that comes with this host, the Inn and the town of Chelsea.

Room Tip: Choose the very heavenly Glazier suite with fireplace, sitting area and claw foot bathtub. Pure bliss and not fluffy foofy....! Man enough for all husbands!

Kim and I want to thank you for your kind words and comments regarding our Inn and our town. Kim particularly laughed out loud with when your husband characterized our B&B as not too: "country kitchy, fluffy foofy, girly, and pink with lace-so we stayed!" He nailed what we are after: balanced charm without all over the top phroo phroo. That comment will help many with their decision to stay. Comments such as yours help us confirm too, that we are doing things right. However, there is always room to improve. Can't say we have many walk-ups from Spain. You're a first. We look forward to your future 2 day stay.
