We just had our 4th stay at the Olde Mill Inn!! Our son and his family live nearby, so my husband and I have usually come in the winter for the Holidays. We have stayed in several of the rooms, so we now consider ourselves experts!! Our preference is a room off the lake with a Queen bed. The advantage to us is that the rooms are a bit bigger with a desk and chair. All the rooms have charming decor but in the non-lake rooms, we usually had to bring in the folding chair (provided outside the door for smokers) if we want to sit on something other than the bed. What first drew us to the Olde Mill Inn was that you can choose a room to fit your budget but all the prices are reasonable with discounts for longer stays. We also appreciate the little kitchenettes which make the rooms so cozy. The staff has always been lovely, the owner Tim is a gem, the rooms are clean and attractive. We've never been disappointed. So until we visit again....

This place was clean and nicely decorated. We had no trouble sleeping, it was so quiet. We fished off the back deck, just out our back door. Smokers can't smoke in their rooms (a plus) so they smoke out back. I had to move downwind to avoid it. The office staff was accommodating. We loved this place. Excellent value for the money.

What makes America great... is places like this, hotels like this, businesses like this, staff like this, service like this and the philosophy behind...

At first I just wanted to stay for 2 nights... it became more than a week. First, the yard was clean and well ordered with well composed and harmonical nature colors and materials, green themes and atmosphere, and the service at the reception was like coming home.

The rooms are clean, the place is well ordered, very safe and with an atmosphere that invites to relax. The staff are serviceminded, friendly and always effectively helpful. Two restaurants among the nearest neighbours secures the supplies of food, drinks and cappucinos.

The lakeview at the backside is like a painting and one may expect to hear the distant flutes of Pan arriving with a company of nymphs arriving over the calm lake where from one also may slip into larger lakes by canoe or boat. Debussys "Afternoon of a faun" describes the view from the patio very well.

Boats can be rented in the summer season, and there are parking places right outside of the door if you rent a room at the front yard. The price level is affordable, and quite satisfying according to the standard. This is a place not only good for sleepover, but suits also well to just get away for a few days and slow down, as it combines the pleasures of the city similarily as a timeless and rural peace lays over the view of the patio at the backside. One also may dip the toes in the lake from the patio, or try the fishing luck in competition with the ducks...

If one first have been here once... theres no doubt that one automatically think about it as ones resort in the area.

But order in good time, as the place is most often fully booked, now you know why.

Thanks for a pleasant stay. :)

Room Tip: The rooms at the patio at the backside along the lake costs a few dollars more, but offers a very poetical and rural view... Book rooms in good time!

Very friendly staff.. upon my call I was asked call the following day to see if any cancellations had come in since this was a last minute decision to stay in the area for an event... called and there were cancellations to our delight! The room was very clean, compact with mini kitchen for simple cooking... need to bring your own cooking utensils or maybe when calling you can ask for some to be waiting for your arrival but very comfortable. Upon our arrival we were greeted and shown around the property to which the back of the motel has rooms off a beautiful deck which over looks a lake.. the only drawback is that it is a smoker retreat.. BUT open air and if there is a breeze.. your all good... we live 30 mins approx. away and will definately be back for a weekend getaway! Perfect location. Enjoyed very much and will definately go back!!

Room was surprisingly quiet considering the proximity to the Dixie Highway. The walls are typically thin so if you are unlucky you will hear your neighbors, but luckily we heard our neighbors only during the day. We were excited about the possibility of doing some light cooking, but there are not pots, pans, plates etc so it is pretty hard to use the stove unless you bring your own cooking stuff. Maybe it would have been possible to ask for a pot and plates, but there was no info inside the room to indicate that that is a possibility. There is a grocery store nearby so you can definitely eat cheap by buying "microwave dinner". The owners are very friendly and helpful and the deck out onto the lake is very nice.
