The food, ambiance and view were great! The service - not so good. We were there on a Tuesday at 5:30 without a reservation and got the last table available. Make sure you have a reservation for dining.

Our third time at Chamberlin's and for good reason. This is a very old structure (no elevator) and the rooms, most with private bath, are all different and beautifully decorated. Being lakeside, the view to the west is also beautiful.

The restaurant has always been good and the Planked Whitefish is a winner. However, the Filet of Beef I ordered was so inedible, I had to send it back. Unusual for this fine place. But the included breakfast the next morning was ample and very good. I suspect we will return as it is a charming B&B.

Yes, the inn is old...and does have a very interesting history. The B&B experience is not for everyone....we thoroughly enjoyed it! We chatted with locals, staff, and the owners. The view from the porch is beautiful. We had a small room with a bathroom and were very happy with our experience. Breakfast was delicious...we also enjoyed dinner twice and our meals were outstanding.

Room Tip: The doors were all open if not taken - each room had it's own charm!

First, the appearance. It is a beautiful old building, and rich in heritage (according to the owner), but is in need of care. Would be so much more impressive if it had some basic upkeep, a paint job, for instance. It is a bit ramshackled. The view from the porch however is unparalleled. Just beautiful! The Inn restaurant has two menus, a pub menu at lunchtime and served anytime on the porch and a dinner menu served inside. We opted for the pub menu and ate outside as the dinner menu was quite pricey $20s-30s for an entree. The sandwiches were large and quite good. There were only a very few places to sit on the porch and the tables there were basic homeowner patio furniture. The view, did I mention was fantastic. The four stars would have only been three if the place was located anywhere else and only the food was considered. But it was waaaay better than the basic bar food in the rundown places in Curtis (one exception..the Curtis Cafe was very nice).

Beautiful location, lovely views, nice restaurant and bar....but very old property with shared bathrooms. Room was clean but noise in this 100 plus year old property travel, meaning you can hear your neighbor moving around in their rooms.

Room Tip: Be sure to ask for a Lake view room
