Super atmosphere, interesting food, great service. But....the gentlemen at the door in period costume with so much wit and charm are definitely the highlight.

Service was quick, portion was generous and the quiet, relaxed atmosphere was a nice break from the hectic Greenfield Village. After walking nearly 3/4 of the Village, we just wanted a place to sit and relax and be waited on. All types and prices of foods, the chicken salad was excellent and served with breads and crackers on a pile of greens. Perfect for a nice hot day lunch.

Walking around the village for hours..you get hungry. Stop by the Eagle Tavern, and step back even farther into history than you already are! The food that is prepared are recipes from 1800's era cookbooks. There are no "separate" tables, meaning you and your party could end up sitting with strangers, but that's what makes it so interesting.

Everything is fresh, and prepared using ingredients that are grown inside the village. Your straw is a noodle, the food is great, and it's overall an amazing experience. I recommend the bread appetizer, the savory noodles, and the iced tea.

The Eagle Tavern is located in the Greenfield Village at The Henry, and was our first stop during a recent visit. The food is very good, but the dining experience here is what elevates this establishment to a higher level. The staff all dress the part of early settlers, and even act the part in a non-hokey way. Guests sit at communal tables and the lighting is dim from no overhead lighting. The menu is also a throwback to the pioneer days, with plenty of offerings you surely won't find anywhere else. We will definitely be back on our next trip to Greenfield Village.

This venue is part of the Henry (aka Greenfield Village) and is worth a time out to sit and experience. You are transported (not literally) back to the 1800's were things were simpler. You are a traveler at a busy stage coach stop were you will be "staying for a while". The atmosphere is fun, the staff is friendly and the seasonal food is very good. The breads and jams are my favorite!
Ever drink a soda through a pasta straw (no plastic back then)? You will here!
This is a must if you are visiting the Village.
