Great clean place to stay and enjoy Douglas & Saugatuck. Very convenient location. The rooms were clean and modern. Enjoyed the adirondack chairs in front of each room and even had dinner (wine, cheese, crackers) there one night!!! Felt relaxed and recharged after only 2 days. Would stay with them again.

Perfect location....we were able to walk to Saugatuck as well as to restaurants in Douglas. We always feel so welcome by Steve, Rob and Victor. There are some new upgrades which are flat screen TV's, delightful duvet covers, and white 2 inch wide slat blinds. Loved it! This is our third visit to the Pines Motorlodge and always enjoy our stay. We hope to return next year. Check out the Saugatuck Motel too. Steve and Rob have turned this hotel into a lovely oasis. Lots of trees surrounding a beautiful pool area. Rooms are very attractive too.

Room Tip: We like room #11.

From the moment we pulled in and met Steve, I knew I had picked the right place to stay. It reminded me of my youth and staying in the Catskills in NY.Room decor was very cute and retro.Had all of the amenities we could have asked for including refrigerator,tv and microwave....If you are looking for a Ritz Carlton, this isn't it,but room was very clean, and continental breakfast was a nice touch....The area scenery was superb.Would definitely go back. Visited the Gilmore Museum in Hickory Creek, and was also treated to a wonderful experience of driving Model T's.It is one of the largest car museum's in the U.S.

Room Tip: Rm. 14 is a corner room,so people only on one side.....

We thought we were here for a night but fell in love with the Pines and all it's atmosphere. So quaint and cute and clean. Very relaxing scenery with the sweet outside sitting area tucked in the trees. Rooms were a surprise with the modern renovations and amazingly comfy beds. And the anarondack chairs out front of each room were a great addition. The host was very helpful and friendly. We would love to stay again anytime. So glad you were there. Your place made our trip so special.

The benefits of this motel offset the few minor problems, making it a good option. The rooms are nice, very clean, and comfortable. The owners are friendly and helpful, giving good advice about places to eat and places to avoid in both towns. The price isn't bad for the area. It's quiet, despite being just off the highway, since the rooms are tucked back. And the location is very good -- a short walk to Douglas, and a five minute drive to either Douglas Beach or to Saugatuck. These benefits, in our view, certainly outweighed the downsides -- thin walls; breakfast that doesn't start until 9:00, and then consists of not-very-good store-bought muffins; and no comfortable chair in the room. We'd have no qualms about staying here again (although we might first explore one of the options right in Saugatuck).

I can't tell you how much we LOVE coming here! Our first visit was in 2009 and we couldn't stop talking about it (or thinking about it). The Pines Motor Lodge exceeded my expectations in every way. Thoughtful decor choices, amenities, and overall comfort makes this establishment a stand out! We made our second visit this last weekend and we couldn't have been happier! Again, we enjoyed every minute of our stay from the extremely clean rooms, comfortable accommodations, the continental breakfast, the beautiful scenery, the impeccable grounds/facility, and the extremely friendly owners, Rob and Steve. Every detail has been thought of! The Pines Motor Lodge is more than a place to stay, it is definitely a summer destination spot. You won't be disappointed!

What a great cozy place! The room was not very large, but so clean and comfy! The pine wood on the ceilings and walls was beautiful! The bed was very comfortable, the bathroom clean and new. All the decor was so cute, my daughters and i enjoyed the stay very much. The continental breakfast was very good also. The owners were both very nice and helpful with our questions about all the beaches and places to go. Very nice, would stay again!
