“Great off the beaten path stay”
Reviewed 11 August 2014 via mobile

My family stayed here for a night while on a vacation that jumped from location to location. Though we never took advantage of some of their offerings due to time restraints, it's a great place to stay if visiting for a day or several. When we were there they had a campfire at night and also offer breakfast. The place was clean, comfortable and the staff extremely friendly. I would stay there again if in the area.

Don was very helpful checking me in early to my room which was very appreciated! He was then very helpful making recommendations about places to visit and things to see. Their hotel offers a very comfortable atmosphere, it reminded me of when I was young and a few families would go up and stay up north by the water. They had a sand volleyball net, a nightly campfire, a bike I could use, kayak and a private beach area right at the end of the street that was very relaxing.
I slept great and as I made my very early exit, don offered breakfast early and made sure I had great directions to get back to the expressway.
I don't know too many places, if any, that care that much about their guests!

Room Tip: I stayed in the main house in a great room with a fireplace. There was a bathroom but it was not wit...

We enjoyed our stay. We had 3 in the room (2 queens) and it was very small. The bathroom and shower were even smaller. The room was clean and the staff was great. The lake at the end of the street was great. They have canoes and kayaks available to use for no charge. This is a great place for young kids.

Delightful for our kids (ages 5 & 7)! The rooms are clean & very quaint. The facilities are a child's (and parent's) dream: swing set, volleyball court, croquet, bikes, kayaks, canoe, toys, games, & nightly bonfires - all included! This is by far the most "kid-friendly / family-friendly" place we have ever stayed! The location is great - central to the dunes, Empire Beach, Little Glen Lake and Glen Arbor. The staff was delightful too!

If you need a clean place to sleep and shower while visiting a beautiful part of the state, this will meet your needs. The staff is friendly and helpful. The resort falls short when it comes to staying updated. Our unit was in need of a serious up-date. We paid ( for 4 people and a pet) $200 per night which we felt was high for the tight living space which included a queen bed, day bed, and small dining table. The furnishings are old and very basic. Breakfast was adequate. We hope they will consider using less plastic and styrofoam in the future.

We stayed here for a long weekend and were thrilled with the clean rooms, friendliness of the staff, and amenities that included free breakfasts, kayaks, canoe and boats, etc. Will definitely be back!

Room Tip: Variety of room types - check them all out.

Planned a vacation where we just drove along the Michigan coast and stop when we felt like it. This place was great. Very clean rooms!!! Comfortable beds!!!! The breakfast area is community which was nice to be able to use the fridge and such. I would of liked to seen more options for breakfast but when you look at all the other extras you get, and that's my only issue, it's not an issue. Loved the free usage of canoes and kayaks. The bikes as well were great. I can't imagine staying any place else.
