We (trophy wife, daughter and grand-daughter and myself) stayed three nights at the hotel. The week-end was very crowded, especially Saturday. They apparently sell waterpark only tickets as well as guest passes to the park. Since it was hot that weekend, Saturday was basically overbooked. The waterpark itself is very small compared to other parks we have been to visit. Only two true tube slides. The rest of the park is mainly set up for small children. The "lazy river" is tiny. There is not enough seating to accommodate those who are just there to keep an eye on their kids and it is situated so that there are no direct lines of sight between seating and where the action is happening. They are in the process of building a bigger waterpark and this may alleviate some of the problem. I would say that the cost of staying at the hotel coupled with the use of the waterpark and a trip to Zehnder's downtown for a chicken dinner is on the high side of affordable. About the only things we really enjoyed was the buffet breakfast and sitting in the separate pool/hot tub area that was located just down from our room on the back of the hotel. The hotel is sitting right next to Bronner's Christmas store, so there is plenty of parking on the side, but not nearly enough out in front of the hotel. In addition, the entrance off of the main road is not well marked and quite narrow. It is also right next to the entrance to Bronner's so I saw quite a few people turn into the wrong driveway. Overall, the rooms were clean (though on the old side), they buffet was delicious and what little time we spent in the waterpark was enjoyable enough. However, I am not sure we would ever return as I felt it was a bit expensive for what we received.

We stayed for a night at the end of July here. I was concerned because they had the construction going on for the new part of the water park. I shouldn't have had a concern in the world--you would barely even know they were building outside. We got there early and were surprised that our room was ready around 1:30 p.m. We had planned on just using the locker rooms and getting into the water park, but appreciated having the early access to our room. I loved the family-kid friendly atmosphere. We took our son who was a little over 18 months at the time. He absolutely loved the water park. My husband even got a kick out of going on the larger tube slide, like a big kid himself. We got a package deal that included breakfast in the morning at Elf Hollow Cafe and then had lunch at Zehnders. We were pleasantly surprised by the fresh squeezed orange juice for breakfast and all the food was great! Every possible option you could want. We even loved the shuttle services that connected us to "downtown" frankenmuth and back to the hotel. Easily, we could have stayed two nights here and next time we will. The only complaint was one of the two queen beds sunk in the middle. I actually woke up in the middle of the night to change beds---had I realized the issue with the one bed earlier I would have said something. However, the hotel was clean, despite construction and everyone was so friendly. I would highly recommend and can't wait to bring my family back again soon.

While the kids enjoy the swim, If you are NOT Swimming there is no decent spot to watch them play. Zehnder's after the all mighty $$$, so they force you to pay $ 35,00 for access into the Swim area if you are just here for the day swimming! Totally unreasonable!

Hello, thank you for taking the time to express your opinions and perspectives on Zehnder’s Splash Village Hotel & Waterpark. Your comments are very important to us and help us measure our performance and keep us on track with our guests needs. In regards to your specific comments, we do charge an entry fee to anyone entering the park, similar to any other entertainment facility. Due to our current waterpark seating capacity and in fairness to our hotel guests we do not offer any special pricing for spectator passes at this time, as our seating is limited inside the waterpark. However, with the new addition to our waterpark, we are currently looking into a spectator pass for our day pass guests who are not using our water features. We are and have been open to guest feedback over the past nine years at Zehnder’s Splash Village and within Zehnder’s as a whole and hope that you would visit us again, if not, we understand as each and every guest makes their choices daily on which businesses best satisfy their needs or not. If you would like to discuss your feedback further, please feel free to call me at 800-863-7999. Thanks again!

This was our second time to the splash village. Everything was pretty good. The buffet (extra cost) was very well stocked with a great variety. The water temperature was great. The people were very friendly (even as they were coming into work for the day in the parking lot). We will definitely return in the future.

We've traveled to enjoy Splash Village on numerous occasions - a 12-hour round trip for us, and have usually had a fantastic time. We love the water park which has always been clean and well cared for, as well as the fabulous breakfast at Elf Hollow Cafe. Staff have always been very helpful and kind and made our stay a pleasant one. We usually stay in a Dragonfly Majestic suite - it's perfect for a couple of adults with a small child - she can go to sleep in the separate bedroom and we can sit back and play cards, watch TV, and relax in the main room of the suite. This visit, due to construction, we were given two adjoining rooms, which also worked out perfectly.
The beds and bedding are VERY comfortable and have always been very clean, as has the whole room. Common areas are equally clean and comfortable, and our daughter adores the woodland theme.

We were disappointed a bit on our last stay, our 6 year-old daughter had a sudden medical issue and we weren't able to even set foot in the water park - a major disappointment - and had to cut our visit short, checking out about 3am as she was in too much pain to stay. The front desk staff were very kind and did everything they could to help, however we were past the 72-hour deadline for refunding our remaining stay, so our remaining 2 nights were wasted money.

We still love coming to Splash Village though, and will be saving up to make another trip to our daughter's favorite vacation destination!

Zehnder's Slash Village was a blast. We used to go to Bavarian Village but not that my kids are older this is perfect. It has two waters lodes that go outside the building and come back in, a splash zone with some shorter slides, a pool with a climbing area and a section for pool basketball. There is a hot tub too. There is also the original pool with a small waterfall. That is a quiet option for adults. Rooms are spacious and comfortable. When you enter there is a large closet space with plenty of hangers for a family. there is a mini bar area with granite counters, mini fridge (empty for you to use), microwave and two stools. It makes for easy snack and dinner eating. Beds have plush comforters. Bathroom is spacious and roomy for bathing kids. Toiletries are nice and they also have a specialty kids shampoo and a laundry line for hanging bathing suits. They offer early and late swimming so you can so you can use the pools before and after check in. They have plenty of towels for swimming. There is a nice food/ snack counter so you can eat at the pool, they even have margaritas! We opted for a package that included the breakfast buffet: omelette station, fresh waffles, their bakery donuts, fresh fruits, and a variety or meats, eggs, breads, gravy, drinks, more choices than you can even begin to eat. Our package also included a sit down chicken dinner at Zehnders downtown that included guaranteed reservations with at least an hour notice. They have a little gift shop for anything you forget from bathing suits, swim diapers to goggles and more. The firs time went went in the fall on. Thursday night and it was quiet. Our last vist, during winter break was really rowdy. Kids were in the hallways running, bouncing basket balls, sword fighting, karate and such until 11 pm. It was no considerate of those families with babies or who go to bed early. They need to monitor the hallways better. Kids can get rowdy and loud at the pool and game room but hallways should be quiet.
