Very rustic. Expensive for what you get in accommodations.. Tree tops restaurant was very good... Conference center was good.. The front desk staff was okay... Coffee machine broken.... Stayed in the legends and was expensive for what you get....

I have been coming to treetops for the past 20 or so years, at first for skiing then golf, skiing was never a problem it is a good place to learn how to ski, or take the younger kids, it is not challenging at all but a nice place to spend the day.
In the past the staff at the golf course had issues with rudeness, if you wallet was not stacked with 100 dollar bills you got an attitude from them, over the past 3 years that has changed to the point the Staff are the shining star next to the golf courses.
If you want to golf, make your tee times weeks in advance this place books up on the better courses. We stayed there a few weeks ago using a Group golfer package, there was a miscommunication when making reservations I’m not sure if it was my fault or the resorts but at check in it was addressed within seconds by the girl checking us in, she did not need to make a phone call or call her boss, she took hold of the issue and fixed it, She told us the hotel and lodge were booked and thinking the problem was on my end I told her we would stay somewhere else, She had none of that and put us up in a condo with an outstanding few of the color change. The only down side I can see with the resort is that it is dated and is in desperate need of a face lift. I have stayed both at the hotel and now the condos, the hotel is the same as it was in the 80s and it needed updated then, the condos were nice but in need of new carpet, paint and TVs, the door to the deck would not open due to a broken latch and a painting that should have been on the wall pulled out and fell on the dresser, these issues are not deal breakers just disappointing. If you stay on the weekends and like 70’s-90’s rock you have to go see the house Band Jeff and Sue, they are loads of fun and have a people that come back weekend after weekend to see them “So sad too bad Garland you lost the best part of your resort to treetops” I am seeing improvements at Treetops and I think fixing the attitude of the staff was the place to start, now that that is fixed I’m looking forward to the long overdue upgrades to the lodging

Our first stay at Treetops. We golfed the Masterpiece course. . . phenomenal. Stayed one night at the lodge building. Very large room! Outdoor/indoor pool and hot tub were fabulous after a day of golf and cool, autumn temperatures. Every employee we met was very pleasant and helpful. Thank you to everyone at Treetops. Yes, some of the actual "buildings/facilities" could perhaps use a facelift, however, pleasant people is more important to us. To the staff of Treetops who are part of the day-to-day operations . . . keep up the great work and thank you!

I, a Canadian, spent 10 days at Treetops with a long-time golf friend from Germany in late September and early October 2013. We were there for golf and to play in the 4-day Pepsi Challenge Pro-am. The efficiency unit, with two doubles and a kitchenette was perfect for us. Accommodation was clean, comfortable and quiet and met all of our needs nicely. Other comments on this site expressing concern about the efficiency units appear to be outdated in their criticism.

The 3 signature golf courses are a mix of wonderful and unique mountain golf, with challenging and memorable holes and breathtaking views around every turn. The 4th course, the Tradition, is sadly the only one that can be walked, but although I walked 36 carrying my bag on the last day, I appeared to be the only walker. The resort could do something about promoting walking and getting walkers out to the first tee which is about 1500yds from the clubhouse if you're walking. But it's a fine walking course!

I shouldn't overlook the staff we met. Kevin McKinley went out of his way to set us up with partners for the pro-am, and golf pro Mike Sarap and shop assistant Aaron McKintyre provided 4 days of non-stop golf partnership, instruction and generally fine hosting to ensure us a great set of memories.

We've golfed in many places around the world. Treetops is a world-class resort!

Room Tip: Efficiencies are a very good summer value. Bring a couple of extra appliances if you drive --- wok...

I had a recent stay at the Treetops Resort where I was attending a two day conference. I was very dissappointed in the accomodations. I was assigned a room at the Inn and the room was very dark, dingy and dirty and carpet tacks were exposed. There was no air conditioning, the ceiling light in my room would vibrate as the people above my room would walk across their floor. The room was very outdated, the TV was as well outdated and was very small. The bed and pillow was very unconfortable and needless to say did not have a restful stay. Service during the conference was also substandard, running out of coffee, ice water, no milk for the oatmeal that was served. I was very dissapointed in the accommodations for the amount of money that was spent, and I guess it goes without saying that I will not return

First of all I would like to thank Katrin in reservations for helping me arrange this trip for 6 couples of golfers. Our rooms were a little dated but very large and clean. Dollar store towels. Perfect accommodations for a guys golf trip. We ate at the 3 restaurants. Breakfast at Legends was acceptable. Our best night was Saturday at Hunters Grill. Food was okay but the highlight was the entertainment. Jeff and Sue were awesome! Music was great and they knew how to work the audience. They even got a guy in our group to play bongos on stage. What a hoot!

Let's start with golf, Treetops is truly the Midwest's "Must Play" resort and arguably the best collection of golf anywhere in the country. Our awards and accolades from the nation's top golf and travel publications seem to agree. Treetops is home to 81 holes of championship golf and features five distinctly different courses by renowned designers Robert Trent Jones, Sr., Tom Fazio and Rick Smith. Dramatic views, contours and rolling terrain provide a beautiful setting for world-class golf. The Masterpiece Course was Robert Trent Jones, Sr.'S final design in Michigan and is truly a masterpiece. In his own words, Jones claimed it his crowning glory. The course is located at the headwaters of the Pigeon River and takes full advantage of natural valleys, ravines and broad plains. The signature sixth hole features a 120' vertical drop and a panoramic view of the Pigeon River Valley. Dine Like a Champion, Party Like a Rock Star! Enjoy a hearty backwoods breakfast, great food, fine wines and good times, in a casually quaint atmosphere with spectacular views. Rich beginnings, succulent entrees and signature desserts are the perfect complement to a great day on the course or the slopes. Nightlife also abounds too with live entertainment and a sports bar with a massive collection of the world's favorite brews. Enjoy your favorite team on a host of flat screen TV's or create your own action on one of our pool tables or relax and take in the spectacular star show in the sky as you cozy up to our fire pit.
