I stay at this hotel about three times a year and prefer this hotel to others in the area. The staff is always very accommodating and the breakfast filling. The rooms could use updating but I've always gotten a clean room with a very comfortable bed. I enjoy using the pool and the jacuzzi. The location is very convenient. I will stay here again in March and look forward to the terrific service I receive.

This hotel is a little more expensive than some other hotels in the area, but you get what you pay for. The rooms are a little outdated, but very clean! The staff is by far the best I have been around in a long time. I will be back this ski season.

I stayed at the Hampton Inn Gaylord over the course of 4 days in October and felt right at home. The staff is very knowledgeable of the surrounding area and made many great suggestions relating to local restaurants, attractions and fall color tours.

My husband and I spent the last weekend of October at this hotel and were pleasantly surprised! We do not ever get a chance to get away from home because of kids and jobs. We happened uopn an unexpected weekend off together and decided to leave town to spend some much needed relaxing time together. We did not have a reservation, but the hotel had a room available with a king sized bed and a jacuzzi. The girl at the front desk (I think her name was Britney) was very cheerful during our check in. She helped us find a great locally owned restuarant to eat dinner and kept us laughing all through our registration. Our dinner was as good as she said it would be and when we finally went to our room that night, it was WONDERFUL. The Hampton beds are so comfortable. I love the all white linens because you can tell the place is clean. We had picked up a bottle of wine, but never even thought about a corkscrew.....Britney at the desk had one available for us to use and even walked it down to our room!
In the morning breakfast was awesome. Huge selection, very clean and taken care of by a lady who was very gracious. She cleared our plates and offered us coffee! The lobby was recently renovated and is very modern looking with comfortable seating.
We were lazing around in our room when our attendant came by to clean up. She said she didnt want to disturb us and would come back whenever we were ready, we told her we were going out in about an hour, we never saw her again but she left us some candies on our bedstand and a little handwritten note wishing for us to enjoy the rest of our stay. What a nice personal touch!
A manager was working at the front desk on Sunday when we checked out. She was extremely friendly and talking to all the other hotel patrons all morning. You could tell she took alot of pride in the property and the staff members working there. Our experience at the Hampton Inn was so full of small but meaningful touches. Will we definately return to this hotel the next time we are able to get away. :)

Room Tip: King room with jacuzzi was great for a couple in need of quiet time together!

We were eager to spend a night at the Hampton Inn after having a bad experience in a hotel in another city (not a Hampton). There were a number of minor issues at first at the Hampton--- the TV guide in the room was an old one (we got a new one at the desk once we figured out that the channels on the TV did not relate to what was on the guide), there was only one bar of soap in the bathroom, the flip lock on the door was broken, and the bathroom door "stuck" to the floor in places-----the door needs to be shaved down. Then in the morning (after a night on a too soft mattress) we discovered the shower rod was very loose (in danger of pulling out of the wall) and the hook I hung clothes on by the shower came out of the wall altogether. I did relate most of these concerns to the front desk staff and they apologized and made notes. Hopefully these issues will be addressed. On the plus side, the breakfast was adequate, the clean bedding is a plus (no icky bedspread) and the location right off the highway made for easy access. We walked to a Ruby Tuesday for dinner and there's a WalMart also within walking distance.

The good stuff first: nice pool and hot tub, updated lobby with TVs and comfortable seating, great breakfast including some hot items like sausage gravy/biscuits, and waffles. The rooms are purely average. The beds are very comfortable, there are ample pillows, and 90+ stations on the TV. The bathroom is spacious but the toilet was not bolted to the floor. It rocked when you sat on it. The halls are noisy. There were plenty of running and yelling children the night we stayed and while that is more of an issue of bad parenting/supervision the doors buffer very little noise. At one point my husband opened the door to ask them to quiet down and the safety latch came right off the door. The room decor is dated but fine. Everything was clean.
