We only went to the restaurant for dinner with friends. I ask for a Bacardi and coke only to be told they were out of Rum only spice Rum was available. Ordered the calamari first time I've ever had it with cocktail sauce. We all ordered the perch special. The coleslaw was really fresh although the portion was very small. The perch was deep fried which took away from the delicate flavor of perch. We ordered dessert cheesecake and a cobbler with ice cream. Both were very good and fresh tasting. Our server Joey was awesome and he kept us quite entertained.
The view from the deck was great and though we didn't try the pizza - it looked yummy.
We plan to come back because we feel this place has huge potential and needs to find it's niche.

Just left lost arrow last week Wednesday. We were the only people there! It was beautiful!! It was quiet we ate at the resturant and the food was awesome..Then a week after leaving I was told we had to pay 150 dollar charge because we smoked in the room..No signs posted..Hidden print when I registered told me of this which I initialed. We could have been told this verbally when i booked the room back in February!! No remotes in room...No coffee maker in room..Pool was disgusting dirty and the jacuzzi was broken..Grass was uncut.. Such a shame too...This was going to be a yearly thing...The place isnt what it was 15 years ago!!! Sad pathetic..We even cleaned up after our dogs and cleaned up before we left..This place is a joke!!!

Room Tip: Read the fine print!!!!

Hey people give the management a chance and see what happens rest of Summer and Fall I live in area of Sugar Springs which is always well kept and we are having problems with grass cutting , docks being lowered wet golf course, etc This has been a bad winter and Spring for everyone give the place a chance. Have not been to Lost arow for yrs but intend to go for dinner, i understand the Mother's day buffet was excellent and reasonable. i wish that a menu or at least price ranges were posted here. At one time the menu seemed high in past years and people did not go from Gladwin/ Sugar Springs area and the place is so beautiful and relaxing Hope the new owners can make it and come up with good ideas for business. Again I say give the place a chance Memorial day week end was the first holiday week end and with a late start for all resorts in Mid and Northern Michigan, somee places still had snow piles in Parking lots in late April from the winter! Plan to check the place out and make my own decisiions after they have a chance to get ready for July 4 holiday

Room Tip: not sure of best rooms

We went for memorial weekend/their re-grand opening. It was a joke. They were not ready or prepared at all. The grass was not cut, pool was being filled as we got there, and broke. So no pool, they closed and locked the arcade. Only 2 firepits in whole resort that everyone had to share. Bar closed at 10pm. They had a Hawaiian buffet night, food was good, didn't have much liquor in stock , or many kinds. The older lady who was in charge was to busy flirting with younger men than running the place. There was rarely Anyone in the office if u needed help of any kind. The place is beautiful and could have so much potential with different owners/ or management/staff.

My family had owned a cottage on the river for years, but we sold it over 10 years ago and I thought we'd never be back. However, we were able to put a family trip together and rented two of the riverside cabins. The cabins were great, just what I was expecting. We also rented a pontoon from the Secord Marina and were able to doc it just in front of our cabin for the week. It was great!

The things I wished were different: I wished we had a fire pit by our cabin, the shared fire pit was OK until the drunk guys showed up. I also wish the restaurant had a few more affordable lunch options. And one big wish would be a swimming area for the kids - we made due by building a ladder out of branches so we could swim off the dock.

I look forward to visiting again.

Room Tip: The cabins on the river are fantastic.

What a charming resort, we were looking for a place to take a small group of friends to socialize and tour the colors via water. We enjoyed a tour of the entire estate including the small cottages, the hotel rooms and the banquet center. We stayed in the river houses and they were perfect and comfortable. The real surprise was the restaurant, Chef Fred Garcia prepared an amazing assortment of entree's that included walleye, pheasant, prime rib and farm raised venison, all were delicious. We found the meals to be priced with in reason and the portions very adequate. This must be a very popular spot for summer vacations as the facilities also have a horse stable, Pool (not open at the time we stayed), horseshoes, volleyball, docking for boats and endless trails on state land. The staff was friendly and engaging, we even met Chef Garcia who came out to tell us more about the dinner. We all agreed that this would not be our last visit to Lost Arrow!

The resort had been closed for a year after the death of the owner. It has been reopened and IS doing a fantastic job to make the resort again popular. I went for a dinner meal back in August and met the new staff and the food IS terrific. The prices are reasonable. I returned with a group last night and had the fish (Perch) dinner special and it was pretty darn tasty. $20 for two people! It was worth every penny. I will be returning for that special alone. On the table was a small placcard that advertised upcoming events that they are offering. Their efforts to make the resort a friendly and comfortable spot is outstanding. I would not hesitate to HIGHLY recommend Lost Arrow to anyone. But, a word of warning........ it's a resort!! It's not city living and is neat and tucked away in the north country for you to enjoy the wonderful scenery and peace and quiet.
