My new wife and I were looking for a place to spend our honeymoon and I ran across a brochure for the Sylvan Inn. We wanted our privacy yet looked for some personal attention. Our hosts provided us with both. We stayed in their penthouse room which had a private balcony. The room was decorated very nicely and gave it lots of charm. Breakfast was served every morning and we had plenty of information about the area provided. Our future vacation plans have yet to be determined but we do know we want to return soon. I would recommend the Sylvan Inn to anyone.

Ralph and Rose at the Sylvan are awesome hosts in an accomodation and location that make ones stay relaxed and effortless. The rooms are simple, quiet and clean. The house is walking distance to food, stores and the big lake. It is simply a pleasure to stay at the Sylvan.

The Sylvan Inn bed & breakfast is top notch. I was expecting a comfortable cottage, but it was not cottage at all. We had a very comfortable, beautifully furnished room which was private and quiet. There's also a wonderful spa with hot tub and sauna.
Ralph & Rose greeted us at check in and told us all about the Glen Arbor area.
The continental breakfast was fresh & plentiful, with something for everyone.
I can't wait to visit again.

Our stay at the Sylvan Inn was wonderful - The Innkeepers were friendly and helpful, making dinner reservations for us, tips for what to do, and chatting with us over breakfast. The rooms were nicely done and very clean, the bed super comfortable. We would definitely stay again!

This was our first time staying at a B&B and we chose it mainly due to the reviews we read on Trip Advisor. It was everything we had hoped for and then some. The inn is beautiful and far more comfortable than any hotel we've ever stayed in. The Treetop room was tastefully decorated and extremely comfortable. The spa is a nice touch and being able to use the hot tub in private made it even more enjoyable. Ralph and Rose are excellent hosts. We had a nice breakfast every morning and great conversation. It felt more like we were staying at a friends' home. The front porch is a wonderful place to spend the afternoon and the inn is within walking distance to several good restaurants and shops. There is also a grocery store less than a block away, which is very convenient. We loved the inn so much that we can't wait to go back.

I can't say enough good things about the Sylvan Inn - my only regret is that we only stayed one night.

Our room was beautiful - very well-appointed, comfortable, clean and quiet. The innkeepers were so gracious and welcoming - it felt like we were visiting old friends. Breakfast was wonderful - and I can't forget to mention the cherry hot chocolate that is always available - I wish I had some of that right now. (Be sure to visit Cherry Republic; it's an easy walk down the street).

Also, Glen Arbor is a great destination, as is the surrounding area - Sleeping Bear Dunes is amazing. I was raised by the ocean, and never spent much time on the Great Lakes, but I am a true believer now - I could easily vacation there every year.

All in all, our visit to the Sylvan Inn and Glen Arbor was so perfect and romantic, it turned out to be an unexpected second-honeymoon.

(one side note: we visited in mid-June, before the main tourist season kicks into high-gear; it might not be as relaxing in Glen Arbor in July...)

My husband, 12-year old daughter and I recently returned from a week-long stay at the Sylvan Inn B&B and can't say enough great things about the entire experience. The inn itself is a beautiful, well-kept, historic home. Our room was in a newer addition and had just recently been redecorated in a lovely Parisian theme. The room had a priviate entrance which worked great for coming and going and we also had our own pation and patio table/chairs which was a lovely spot for eating breakfast each morning. Ralph and Rose, the innkeepers were the perfect hosts. As first-time visitors to the area, they graciously provided much needed help with what to see, where to go, what to do, etc. They had suggestions for which beaches were the least crowded, where to go for dinner, and what fishing spots to try. They were very accomodating with our daughter and even introduced her to Petosky rock hunting. I also can't say enough about the town of Glen Arbor. It was small enough to be quaint and friendly, but large enough to offer several restaurants and ice cream stands, a grocery store, and many fun shops. It was also a great central location for enjoying all that the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore has to offer. The beach was just a few minutes walk from the inn. We would go back to Glen Arbor and the Sylvan Inn without hesitation.
