There was something appealing about the idea of eating ice cream on a warm summer night by the water, so I looked into Ice cream places that would be near the beach and found Pier Peddler right on the path. The name sounded cute, and the location right on the river looked like a great place to sit, so we made sure to visit this ice cream shop when walking back from the beach.
I instantly saw "Tiger Traxx" on their menu and recognized it as a Hudsonville flavor - yay for Michigan Made ice cream! We buy Hudsonville in our local store whenever it's on sale and find it to be better than the regular national brands. We each choose a different flavor and opted to eat out of a cup. Service was fast and friendly and I also bought a Grand Haven shirt from their small gift area. We sat outside and enjoyed our ice cream on the boardwalk in great weather.
When it came time for fireworks night, I planned to purposely sit near the Pier Peddler so we could have ice cream while we waited. They had a line out the door all night but they did not disappoint. Once again it was fast service and this time we each got cones.
The ice cream is, as expected, delicious because it's Hudsonville which I'm already a huge fan of :) If you are looking to cool off while walking the boardwalk, this place can't be beat.
