My wife, daughter and I stayed in the Superior View room for three nights. The room was spotless and very comfortable. They leave freshly ground (and amazing) coffee outside of your door at 7am. Breakfast is at 8 and oh my are they good at making breakfasts! I can't even begin to explain how good it was!
Jamie likes to say a prayer before breakfast, which didn't bother us one bit. He doesn't ask anyone to join in, he just likes to say one first. Jamie and Lois strike me as older hippies and are very friendly, polite and fun to talk to. Chatting with them over breakfast felt like we were chatting with old friends! Twice we spent over an hour after breakfast just chatting and swapping stories!
There is a fair sized hottub on the deck and a couple of grills in the yard that can be used. The hosts are able to give some good advice on things to do and see around town. They are very courteous, friendly and polite.
They do have two dogs, Bear and Nora. One of them is content to just lay in one spot all the time (and earned the nickname of Bear Rug by the owners) and the other is a friendly but reserved animal.
We actually will stay in Grand Marais on our next trip to the U.P. just so we can stay there again!More
