Very convenient to downtown hotels. The Cathedral is a beautiful, traditional church with a beautiful open piazza in front. We attended 10:00 am Mass and felt very welcome.

Having visited many Cathedrals in Europe, the Cathedral of St Andrews is Grand Rapids own jewel. The music is outstanding...very worshipful and reverent. Truly music honoring God and not the musician. The Cathedral has excellent acoustics, which magnifies the beauty of orchestral and choral offerings. Although, I have not attended a service, I have watched services on TV and found them to also be very reverent and uplifting. For an authentic worship experience, I would highly recommend The Cathedral.

We were lucky and found out about a quartet from the Grand Rapids symphony were going to play inside the cathedral. Call the symphony office and ask if there are some schedule performances. Hearing a professional string quartet play within this beautiful retreat is a very special treat.

I came with a choir to sing at a Martin Luther King Day Celebration. The staff spent extra time at the end of a very long day for them to answer questions about the statues on the alter and the new grand piano, even offering to let us play it! Everything from the beautiful windows to the floors helped set the tone for worship.

Saint Andrew Catholic Church is one of the prettiest places in GR. Cathedral Square is beautiful and a great place to walk around. They have many service to choose from, but if you want a seat on Christmas Eve, get there early! The seats next to the Alter are my favorite. There is parking in the lot across the street as well as street parking, but can be challenging during a popular concert like the Men and Boys Choir and holiday masses. This is a must see, even if you only step inside to see the grandeur!
