We were told we couldn't miss this even though it was rainy. I'm glad we listened to our friends. We started with the tram ride--lots of good information and good guide but we were anxious to get out and walk. Make sure you go to the boardwalk toward the Michigan Farm area. I was surprised to see that they labeled "buckthorn" In the Chicago area we are trying to get rid of it. I think they should too. Good food in the cafe, beautiful space.

We spent about three hours touring the gardens and greenhouses with our two children, ages 3 and 6. The children's garden has plenty to do. We really liked the treehouse area. The indoor greenhouses are really awesome too. Very friendly staff.

My fiance and I are planning on having our wedding ceremony here, and the staff has been wonderful to work with! The price is great for what you get, and the space is absolutely beautiful. I highly recommend working with Frederik Meijer Gardens!

Anyone who travels in this area MUST take time to see Meijer Gardens. It's a totally unique place. It was started about 20 years ago. I went here when it was just a walking park with about 10 statues. Now it's a full-blown artistic and botanical garden wonder of the world. No exaggeration. This place is one of a kind. They continually improve the place, too. And you'll see sculptures, such as the Da Vinci Horse, bronze, about 40 feet tall, that you'll see nowhere else. Go there and take about 4-6 hours if you've never been there before. Great place to take the kids, too.

This is definitely a must see if you are in the Grand Rapids area. This is a beautiful sculpture garden that incorporates gardens and botanicals. The displays are constantly being updated as well as the gardens. They are working on a huge Japanese garden for release late next year.
