I think if we ended up going to the location on Fulton, instead of the store on Langley, we might have had a better experience. The location on Langley was in a run down strip mall in a declining area of Grand Rapids. On a Saturday for lunch, there were only two people working and they were overwhelmed. It took about twenty five minutes for us to order and get our food, which is ridiculous for a restaurant that does not have wait staff.

What saved our experience was the food. Food was great, especially considering how hard it is to find a good deli in Michigan. Lots of great sandwich choices (go to their website to see the menu) or you can design your own. Bread is fresh and so are the meats used in the sandwiches. As others have commented, the portion sizes are huge. A 1/2 order is a normal sized sandwich and plenty filling. Prices are very resonable and ususally range from $5 to $7 for a sandwich. My only other suggestion is to make brownies without nuts!

A half sandwich means half the filling. Good food, you'll eat more than you planned! But so worth it. Desserts are homemade, too and we've never left without taking one for the road!

I love this place!! My favorites are the Italian hoagie, and the California rueben. They use fresh and tasty ingredients, and they don't skimp. I can't think of a sandwich shop within 50 miles that comes close. This fall they went about 3 months without a sign in front because they were getting a new one. The place was still busy, and I thought it was crazy that they didn't even need signage.
