As others have noted, very friendly staff, agreeable rates, and good beds (our loft "2 bedroom" suite unexpectedly had a king in the bedroom and a queen in the loft). The breakfast compares favorably with places like Hampton Inn. The location on the east beltline is convenient to the east side of the city and there are plenty of nearby options for shopping and dining -- not least the Krispy Kreme shop across the street! However, an overall rating his hard to peg, and I was frankly surprised Wyndham would have one of their brand names on a property needing so much work and where housekeeping seems to need greater attention to detail. The wooden stairs can make neighbors' arrivals and departures quite noisy, a nuisance in the wee hours. Photos show the evidence of bathroom work needed, and failure to fully clean the carpet (vacuum cleaners don't go all the way to the wall). These make you wonder what else they're missing. It also makes you wonder what they do to earn the $50 pet cleaning fee, which unfortunately is not disclosed on some 3rd party reservation sites. We'd return, but would hope for some improvements in these areas.
the only negativ aspect: didn't have enough time to enjoy this place! From checkin to checkout, staff and hotel great. Just planned Grand Rapids as a stopover on our roundtrip around Lake Michigan, but was pleasantly surprised by this place. The room was real big, with a full kitchen, an amazing bed, and a full sitting area with fireplace! Onplace pool, etc. round the whole thing up, was a very relaxing and soothing stay.
