Two families (six adults and three high schooler) stayed three nights and very much enjoyed all Trail's End had to offer. Very easy booking and communication with owner. We enjoyed the screened in porch, patio, fireplace (cool and rainy one day), whirlpool and seclusion! You will climb a few stairs as the residence features three levels but that's good for you after feasting in the well stocked kitchen. Nice running trails in the area as well.
We needed a place that would be a great location to get to easy bike routes, the beach, shopping and great restaurants. This house was perfect! It’s in a secluded wooded area with beautiful scenery from every window and at one point I saw an eagle. Has a great whirlpool tub and a sauna. The grill outside and the kitchen were in great order. We found it to be very clean. The only call out I’d make is there are a lot of steps (entry and kids bedroom on one level, kitchen and living space next level and master bedroom one level up from that). This was not an issue for us and that’s part of how there are such great views. Lastly, loved the screened in porch!
If you are looking for a relaxing Up North experience, this is the place. Beautiful vacation home in the woods. Comfortable, relaxing; it has all the amenities needed. Part of Birchwood Farms Golf and Country Club property. Renter has access to all the facilities of the club - golf, pool etc.
Owner was very easy to work with, excellent communication.
Highly recommend; already want to go back.
We've actually vacationed at the home twice once in June of 2017 and now June of 2018 and have just fallen in love with the home and area. The home is private and peaceful which truly allows you to relax and distress! We love sitting in the screened in porch area. We spent every morning and evening sitting outside watching the wildlife and listening to the birds. When it was chilly and raining out we had a fire and watched movies, admiring the field stone fire place this past year. The home truly has everything you need to cook, bake, grill, or run a load of laundry if need be. We love the downstairs lounge area it was fun to explore the books, movies, and games. The house is in a great location you easily do a day trip to Mackinac Island, drive the tunnel of trees, or spend the day in Petoskey, Bay Harbor or Charleviox. My only concern for the home is I think it would be most suited for families with children over the age of eight due to the stairs and location of the bedrooms. I can't remark on the golf course, pool, etc. as we chose not to use the amenities mostly due to the weather. Thank you Mike for sharing your beautiful home.
Very comfortable home to spend a week. The pool and golf at the clubhouse are excellent. Convenient to many other leisure activities within short driving distance
Great house in excellent condition and wonderful location. We enjoy the dense forest and deer in the area. Club house and golf course are very nice and well maintained.
Our deepest appreciation goes out to Michael W. for providing us his beautiful home. As you travel past the amazing homes and their settings on your approach to Trails End, you will truly witness why this property is named as such. Your only neighbors are the wildlife that inhabit these dense woodlands. Peaceful tranquility is what you experience in this setting. Michael's home is a jewel. Well decorated and appointed. All modern appliances, smart televisions, cable (including movie channels), an in-home sauna (I wasn't smart enough to figure this out though), and enough room and hot water for a large family or group.
Although there is no view of wonderful Lake Michigan, you are well positioned to be at it's shores with a short jaunt to Harbor Springs or Petoskey State Park. If you're lucky or diligent, you'll find Petoskey Stones, a local treasure. Also incredibly nearby is the Tunnel of Trees (M119) attraction. We traveled this highway numerous times and rarely reached speeds greater than 25 mph. The time of year was certainly an added benefit.
Mackinaw is only an hour or so away to the North and if you're really adventurous as we are, you'll continue North into the Upper Peninsula (UP). This is a vast area so expect some time behind the wheel. Charlevoix and Traverse City (Sleeping Bear Dunes) are within reach and are great ares to visit as well. We traveled nearly 2000 miles on this vacation and Trails End could not have been a better destination for us. I highly recommend this property and truly hope its available for us to reserve on our next adventure to Michigan. Thank you so much Michael.
