Description: A tribute to the maritime heritage of beautiful Harbor Springs, Stafford's Pier Restaurant offers true waterfront dining, quite literally, as the Pier Restaurant was built on original pilings over the harbor. The Pier's Pointer Room overlooks the historic yacht basin while offering visitors a superb choice of fine cuisine. A local meeting spot, the Wheelhouse Lounge is open daily for cocktails with a complete menu. Dudley's Deck is without question the most famous outdoor dining spot in northern Michigan and the place to be each and every Fourth of July. Along with spectacular views, the Pier notes an impressive culinary team, lead by Executive Chef Rob Sargent. The Pier is always the center of action in Harbor Springs all year long. And especially when summertime hits, there is probably no more popular nightspot in town.

Food was excellent, service was excellent. Great view of the harbor. There was various rooms to dine in. The wait staff was very friendly and on our way out we chatted with the chef. The French Onion soup was fabulous.

We recently ate lunch in the main restaurant upstairs while visiting Harbor Springs. The restaurant has a nice view of the docks and harbor, which was entertaining even on a winter day. The room is pleasantly decorated in light colors. Our chairs had seen better days' the springs were sprung, so it was like sitting on a pogo stick. The restaurant was mostly empty, which we assumed was because of the slow time of year. Our server was friendly, but service was inexplicably slow considering that the restaurant was deserted. My sandwich was inedible - a cold, soggy piece of fried fish of some indeterminate provenance on a nondescript bun.. My spouse said his hamburger was of poor quality beef. I had not eaten lunch here for several years and with any luck will not be back for a while.

A sunny June day in northern Michigan. I and my wife and two adult daughters were touring the area. We had read about Staffords Pier Restaurant and, because we all like Great Lakes fish, had decided we wanted to dine here. To our suprise we found that we could eat outside on the pier known locally as "Dudley's Dock". We were seated by our very attentive waitress at a table not ten feet from the water with a large umbrella to shade us from the sun.
The drinks were delivered post haste and our order taken - perch! The girls all had perch sandwiches which came on delicious white bread with all of the extras. I order the dinner. The mushroom soup was the best I've ever eaten while the perch were fried to perfection.
It was a lovely afternoon and we slowly enjoyed our experience.
Only one drawback - as Lake Michigan perch are difficult to come by these came from Lake Superior and they were good.

We purchased a take out lunch consisting of a hamburger and a BLT with green tomatoes. The green tomatoes added nice flavor to the sandwich. I believe it was a pesto mayonnaise on the sandwich - yum. Hamburger was cooked perfectly with a touch of charring. But what made this an exceptional experience was the manager, Dave Summers. He went out of his way to provide me with a map and directions to an area we wanted to see (The Tunnel of Trees). On top of that, he insured that we received our orders quickly. We have eaten at this restaurant before and the food has always been excellent.
