“Great place to stay!”
Reviewed 25 July 2013

We stayed at the casino for one night on July 19 and had a nice room, clean, nice check-in people and had no problems at all. I would recommend it! The casino was average for winning, just like any casino, even in Vegas. Win some, lose some, and won all my money back, plus a lot more, just before I went up to my room, which was 2 am!!!

Room Tip: We stayed on the 10th floor, right around the corner from the elevators...so convenience as I'm...

My husband and I decided to head up north to the Island Resort and Casino. The people at the front desk were very nice and our reservation was pulled up and we were checked in without any muss or fuss.

We were pleased with our room and really enjoyed the soap, shampoo and lotion. The shower was adequate and the bed comfy.

But then......we hit the casino. Or I should say, we were hit by the casino! Oh, my gosh!! We put a ten dollar bill in and it was gone. We got nothing back. I put in another ten, I got five cents back twice out of $20. While they have a great selection of machines, those machines just swallow up the money as fast as you can shove it in. I talked with an employee of the casino who whispered to me, "When we want to gamble we go to the Wisconsin casinos. These machines never pay."

I would not recommend anyone frequent this casino. The hotel is lovely but resist the urge to put any money in those machines. We couldn't get out of there fast enough in the morning.

Stayed here for a concert. Our room was in the "old" hotel building even though we requested the "new" tower. The rooms in the old section are dated and small. Definately not worth the money. I don't mind the cost when I've stayed in the new tower, which is very nice. When in the old section, the kids have to walk ALL the way through the smoky casino to get to the swimming pool in the new tower. This is unacceptable.

We had the chance to speak to Sue Harris, the Marketing Director, about various ideas. She is an absolute gem, and so knowledgeable! They are lucky to have her!

The restaurants and service are usually very good, but the machines are tight like most places.

Room Tip: Ask for the NEW tower!

We stay here on our way to northwestern Wisconsin ...it's a perfect location for us...but, this time, we we disappointed...the rooms are ok, and have all you need, but for us, part of the experience is the casino...we certainly know you can't win every time but this place is pretty tight...I am not sure if we will do it again next year...we may drive a little further and save our money...we did eat at their little cafe and each had a $5 voucher to use which made our quick meal very reasonable...they have a couple other choices for dinner as well...maybe when a cold winter has made us get excited about our annual trip, we will change our mind and try again!

Room Tip: If you're hauling a boat or trailer you want to keep an eye on,request the palms tower...however...

We did a stay and play package with the casino and golf course. The entire experience was very nice.
We arrived early with thoughts getting into our room before our tee times. The rooms wear not ready but we did have four rooms and it was noon so no big deal. Next our tee times was delayed due to a storm bummer but again mother natural makes the calls. The people at the course we're great about scheduling a new tee time early the next morning. The course is amazing (gps on the cart giving you distance to the tee is great) every one on the course was more then helpful!! Thanks to everyone who made the experience great even with the poor wet cold weather. 5 stars for the course. 5 plus stars for there attendants.
Check to room was busy due to a wedding. It was really nice to have our group pulled to the side and giving room keys. They told us to come down and check in and pay when we wanted to and it was less busy. That was really nice.
The rooms was fine clean and had a nice flat screen TV. Nothing to fancy but we were in the old wing and not there for the room. Over all nice room.
The casino was two bars with some good drink specials and TV to watch NHL games. The food was good, there are a couple different opinions and I enjoyed the food I had. Pulled pork sandwich after $5 food coupon was $2 and some change was great.
Overall it was a really good deal the rooms were nice, casino (didn't win) but lots of slots, golf course was amazing.

I definitely recommend the stay and play. I don't know summer rates but hard to beat there spring rates!

In what seemed to be the middle of nowhere is the Island Casino. We were heading north out of Escanaba and there appeared this large casino resort so we had to stop. Pleasantly surprised. The room rates where reasonable considering it was around a holiday weekend. The casino was clean and large and the food was great. This is a planned location to visit but you will not be disappointed.

Room Tip: Reasonable rates for a resort casino
