My first visit here was on the occasion of the opening of the Lincoln Motor Car Heritage Museum, which was only one of many events happening here. We enjoyed touring through the buildings and specialty museums dedicated to a wide variety of cars and their history. There has been much research done to inform the casual visitor as well as provide an interesting selection of artifacts, including vintage clothing, period advertising and the personalities behind the cars. We checked out the old gas station and the pedal car collection, too. The Gilmore is out in the country creating a peaceful and relaxed atmosphere. We ate in the old-style diner and enjoyed the simple food there. Each staff member we encountered was friendly and helpful. The gift shop offered a rather limited selection of items. This makes a pleasant day out for people of all ages.

This was my second visit to the Gilmore Car Museum, the first having occurred approximately eight years ago, and has this property changed. Several buildings and additional cars and sections have been added, making it an upscale museum property that takes visitors back in time on a casual visit over a couple of relaxing hours of history. What a joy to be there! It just calms a person down, and brings memories of days gone by. The cars are displayed with great reverence, and sparkle with shiny exteriors. You can get up close to look inside the vehicles to see the interior leather, and other features. Visited the café, but was a bit disappointed with the limited menu of hotdogs, no burgers (would encourage they add, at least, these items and a salad item). They did have malts and my friend indulged! Fun...

My twelve year old Grandson, while impressed with all the cars, was particularly impressed with the craftsman of the automobiles. For young people a visit there creates conversation that is a history lesson in itself.

We enjoyed our trip here. If you love cars this is the place for you. Many years and cars here. There is an old time diner here with just hot dogs and a few salads. The cars are in barn like buildings. I heard they change them out once or twice a year to change things up.

If you've found out about this place (they don't seem to do much advertising) and have found your way to this review page then by all means plan your trip. Here are my suggestions for your visit:
- Go on a beautiful day. The museum is comprised of an entire campus of display buildings, each one a delight. You'll enjoy walking around. (campus closed in Winter months, so plan well)
- Allow at least 3 hours of enjoyment. This is definitely a destination attraction
- A small diner offers a limited menu of treats & the small staff hustles to take care of you, but if you'd prefer to picnic, there are some beautiful picnic areas
- If you are considering bringing young children ask yourself how much time they would want to spend looking at displays. We saw 10 year olds who were fascinated, but some younger ones who were clearly not
- All the amenities you need are on the campus, which is lovely & absolutely spotless. Not much else in Hickory Corners, but Kalamazoo is not far
