Stayed here while my daughter visited Hope College campus. Location is great. On edge of campus and downtown close to shops and restaurants. Rooms clean, nice and efficient. Rooms were quiet. We did not hear anybody in the halls or above us even though hotel was full that night.
Would definitely stay there again and would be my first choice in holland over some of the chain hotels.

I wish I could have scored Haworth a 3.5 as I was torn between an average and a very good. It truly just depends on what your needs are for your stay.

We have stayed here a couple of times and will likely do so again due to Hope College visits. Haworth offers a discount for parents of current Hope students, and the Inn is right on campus, so it's extremely convenient. For a one or two night stay, it's a good option though I wouldn't stay longer.
Good points:
Location - one block to downtown Holland shops and restaurants. Directly on Hope College campus (Go Flying Dutchmen!)
Clean - everything in the hotel is neat and spotless. Even the lobby bathrooms are immaculately maintained.
Staff - Very friendly front desk and breakfast staff. Everyone we encountered was quite pleasant.
Breakfast - Very nice selection. Coffee, juices, hot chocolate. Oatmeal with lots of trimmings, waffle maker, mini pigs in blankets, hard boiled eggs, fruit, yogurt, cereal, bagels. You won't leave breakfast hungry.
In Room wifi - Worked perfectly

So-so points
Decor - While it is indeed clean, the decor is quite dated. Lots of peachy pink paint and floral rugs. Not my thing.
Beds - The mattresses are really hard. The comforter was quite soft, but still not a great night's sleep for me.
TV - Wish they had a printed version of the channel guide in the room. There is a note on the TV stand that indicates the "guide" is on one of the channels. It is, but you need to just watch it scroll until it gets to what you want. You can't actually look anything up.

This is the only other hotel within walking distance of downtown Holland other than City Flats, which I love. City Flats has amazing beds and ambiance, but is a bit pricey. Overall, Haworth is won't disappoint, but won't wow you either.

Room Tip: We were on the second floor which was great. No need to wait for the elevator, as there is a very o...

Located right on Hope College's campus so it's ideal for visiting your child. One block from downtown and restaurants/shopping/etc. Decent hot breakfast (cereal, yogurt, fruit, pastries, scrambled eggs, sausage, hard boiled eggs, make your own Belgian waffles, toast, bagels, coffee, tea, juice, milk). Nicely equipped small exercise room with an elliptical, climber, couple of bikes, free weights, yoga mats. Special rates for parents visiting their kids.

The Haworth is the best value and nicest atmosphere of any place we have ever stayed in Holland. On the edge of Hope College Campus and a half block from downtown shopping Haworth is a gem. Beautiful room, wonderful service, and the most convenient location to shop and dine in the city. We will be back many times in the future.

This hotel/inn is RIGHT DOWNTOWN!!!!! the only other hotel downtown is City Flats which is beautiful but more than TWICE the price!!
Downtown is where you want to be, all the shops and dining start 1 street away.
Parking at the hotel is PLENTIFUL AND FREE and either in front or right next to the hotel, they give you a hangtag for your mirror with 6 different parking lots on the map on the back to park in (and all are within 200 feet of the front door)
the shopping 1 street away (8th) is great, the shops range from "touristy" to "white house/black market".
the dining on the same street (8th) is fantastic, you have "New Holland Brewing" and the Irish pub "Curragh" right across from each other with great food and music and great beer and cocktails. for a nice white tablecloth restaurant, go a couple doors down 8th to Butch's (beer and wine store by day, fine dining at night). here at Butch's instead of picking a wine off their limited selection on the back of the menu, we picked out our own champagne out of the coolers and picked our own wine right off the shelf for them to serve us.....how cool is that!!! their menu ranges everywhere from burgers to filet (and you can sit at the "fancy" tables up front or the pub tables in the back!!)
back to the hotel......small hotel, only about 50 rooms (reserve early)
not sure what they insulated the rooms with but they are QUIET!!!!! we could not hear anyone in ANY room around us (in the morning in the bathroom, i could hear water running in other bathrooms elsewhere, but i can hear that in any hotel!!!)
hotel is at a great pricepoint for it's great, walk to everything location.
the profits of this hotel are going to a great little college that is doing good for others instead of some hotel businessperson that we have no idea what they may be doing with our money.
the staff was happy and helpful.
the lobby and halls were clean (it is on a college campus and it looks like it...little more formal, not kitschy.)
in the room everything was clean and smelled "normal", nothing weird!!!
big flat screen tv in the cabinet.
beds were comfortable, i like a flatter pillow...but that's my fault not theirs!!!
on to the breakfast buffet....WOW...where shall we start....
waffles, scrambled eggs, sausage (pig's in a blanket), yogurt, home made granola, fruit (whole) and fresh fruit cut-up, cereal, danish's, bagels, muffins, milk, chocolate milk, orange juice, cranberry juice, coffee, etc., etc., etc....if you normally have it for breakfast, it was probably out there!!!
there were TWO people taking care of the buffet the whole time we were there (meaning NOTHING was out for more than a couple moments at a time while they replaced anything.

remember to reserve early and if they are sold out call them because people to cancel reservations and you certainly want to stay downtown!!!
we will definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: rooms are on floor 2 and 3 and all face east (the rest of the college) or west (little more greenery...

Thank you so much for the excellent review. I am so happy you had such a wonderful time! I passed your compliments about Butch's onto Butch, the owner. He was happy to hear you had a nice dinner at his restaurant.

Hope to see you soon, and this time we'll have some variety on your box of candy vs. all raisins!!

Until then, safe travels!

Sandy

The Haworth is clean, quiet, comfortable, friendly...and the breakfast is just unbelievable! Homemade pigs-in-the-blankets, lovely fruit, great coffee. Near 8th Street and Hope College, the location is perfect. Parking can be a pain, but they are land-locked so I don't see a solution other than to park across the street. We stay here often.

This is overall a very clean, nicely appointed hotel/inn in a fabulous location. One block back from the beautiful little downtown. 24/7 coffee, tea, hot chocolate and fruit available just off the main lobby in the breakfast room. The breakfast was fresh with lots of variety of breads, bagels, pastries, yogurts, cereals; my husband would have liked more of a choice in hot dishes... basically just pigs in a blanket, waffles and hot oatmeal. Front desk staff in particular very helpful and friendly. This would be a wonderful girlfriends getaway .. my husband not so interested in the shops. Great farmer's market just a few blocks easy walking distance away from the hotel. The only con we had was that there is no refrigerator in the room. We drove down to St. Joseph's and although there were 2 or 3 shops worth going into and it is located right on the lake, wouldn't consider staying there as opposed to Holland. Also, at this time of year, there are a lot of things not open (the windmill had been shut down for maintenance; a lot of the Dutch village was closed) ... but on the up side of that, there weren't hordes of tourists to deal with and the weather couldn't have been better.
