“Unbelievable prices”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 23 October 2013

Great family style restaurant. Phenomenal prices and extensive menu. Service was great. We only get there once or twice a year(we live outside of Chicago) but seek it out when in the area. Sadly, we often miss it as they are closed on Sundays.

“1983 Rules!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 18 August 2013 via mobile

This restaurant was built in 1983 and the interior looks like it has never been remodeled. I really like it. Many call this no atmosphere at all, but just wait 20 years and the dark stained formica look will be the nostalgic look that we all desire to go back to (like chrome diners are now). The menu is old school comfort food. I wouldn't change a thing... except for quicker service...DARN! the service is slow here. I'd definately go back here for the food... and the nostalgia of 30 years ago.

“Very Good”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 11 July 2013

Very good and good value. My wife used to eat here many years ago while in college and claimed it was great. She was glad it was still there and she was correct the food was great. My wife told me how good their pies were so I had to order a piece. Once again she was right. Gee, I'll never live this one down. We were on a two week family road trip with a two day stop in Spring Lake- Grand Haven - Holland area. Russ's was a good family restaurant to relax and have a good meal.

“What a disappointment”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 16 May 2013 via mobile

Took wife and two kids here for breakfast. Service was slow, our coffee and water were continually empty. Decor was straight out of 1979, and most of the clientele appeared to have been there since that time too. The food was bland and blah, like everyone is just going thru the motions here. It was a depressing environment, felt like this is where people who have given up come to wallow in collective misery.

“Lost is luster and portion size”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 14 May 2013

Growing up, Russ was the go to restaurant in town. Now, the decor is pretty much unchanged in the past 20 years, always in need of a good vacuuming, and the portions get smaller and smaller.
