“Beautiful views, great workout!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 17 May 2014 via mobile

While visiting Holland for the Tulip Festival, we stopped here to avoid the crowds of downtown. There is limited parking a short walk away from the trailhead. The trailhead is across from the general store and next to an ice cream shop. There are 239 stairs to climb to the summit and 360 view of the the lakeshore and inland. Well worth it. Just take your time, you can do it.

“Quite literally a breathless view!”

Another great park in Holland and the hike up the stairs is well worth the view. There is a lovely boardwalk at the top and trails through the dunes that will take you down to Lake Michigan.

“Great View”

Great path and scenic view of the surrounding area. Have many memories of this place before the improvements were done. Holland has outdone themselves. Love this town.

“Great workout with an awesome view and fun trails!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 5 May 2014

We climbed the staircase and enjoyed the awesome view of Lake Michigan. Then we went through the trails through the forest. Often, there was slopes, roots and fallen tress that made the trails "fun" for my children to cross. They are active little ones, they loved the challenge. I appreciated the signs being posted as to where we were and which trails to follow. However, if you are not in good cardio shape or at a good fitness level - this will be VERY CHALLENGING. We ended up coming down a sand dune at the campground it was fun to slide down it. But again, if you are not in good shape - you could suffer injury. I would recommend this experience to anyone up to the physical challenge. From start to finish, it took about an hour.
Parking is across Ottawa street, which has a 2hr parking limit. Finding the entrance was a bit of a pain, but once we located it... it proved to be a great time! Note: No bathrooms/water fountains .... just lots of nature to take in and enjoy!

“Awesome views but hard to find”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 17 April 2014 via mobile

Great views once you reach the top of Lake Michigan. Very hard to find though. The iPhone stopped at a location about a mike from the entrance. Needed to ask a worker on the road where the entrance was. After finding it though, it was well worth the 200 plus steps to the top. Our 7 and 10 year old loved it. Our 2 year old had to be carried for sake if time.
