Prices are higher in this tourist area! My wife and I don't have a budget, but if these motel room prices stay this high, we may go home early. Trouble with housekeeping first couple of days in a four night stay (including Friday & Saturday). Spacious Executive King room. We don't watch TV from bed so had to rearrange couch ( which includes a unique chaise lounge). Entry light kept going on and off by it self! Weird! Bathroom vent runs continually; had to shut bathroom door to block noise for sleeping. Bathroom light motion sensor quirky. Here's a new one: tub has puddle that won't drain; must not be tilted enough. Found six items that are normally in a motel room that were absent in this room. Usual breakfast items in smallish dining room, which includes a long, high table with stools which would be good for a large group. Used laundry which has 2 washers and 2 dryers. Fantastic 9" shower head. Be careful with glass bi-fold closet door!

Room Tip: East rooms (use your cell phone compass) overlook a grass field and small pond.

Got a deal on this hotel for 4th of July weekend when many other hotels in the area were double the price.

The room itself was fine. Clean, refrigerator and microwave, usual amenities. The cleaning staff was also friendly and asked us if we needed anything even though we didn't need the room cleaned. However, the first batch of towels in the room must have been very new, because they left white lint all over us.

The downside: when I pulled up to check in, a man stopped his car right in front of the lobby doors, completely blocking my car in. I walked in to find this person behind the front desk, apparently the manager. I found this incredibly rude, and the car was parked there multiple other times, right in front of the main door, blocking loading and parking for guests. It was some kind of nice car, so I guess he wants to be able to see it.

The breakfast also isn't very good. No oatmeal, no healthy cereal choices.

Very nice motel, very good bedding, room was quiet with easy to use air/heat controls. A friendly and attentive staff. A nice pool and hot tub area. Hot breakfast doesn't just have carbs, only lacks oatmeal.

We usually stay in Grand Haven, but decided to stay a little further south. Nice size rooms, clean, very good breakfast selections, great patio area to sit in the morning. Staff/hotel had a great selection of maps and brochures for anyone not familiar with the area. Just south spent the day in Saugatuck and the next day headed north to Grand Haven. Each evening enjoyed trying a new place for dinner in downtown Holland.

Really never know what you're getting until you get there. This is a $60 a night room for $120.
This is an older hotel that has been taken over and mismanaged.
I pre-booked this trip to get away for a few days my wife. Like I stated earlier way overpriced!
Beware of earlier! I believe these may have been by owners or current management.

We checked in later afternoon and took our 2 boys swimming. The pool and the hot tub were dirty. You did not need the room key to "open" the door. There was no lock on the pool door, guest laundry room or exercise room. There were no towels at the pool either. We asked for some and they said they would bring them to us. When they didn't, another guest had a to ask and they finally brought some to the pool area. There was a patio off the pool area that was packed with employees. The pool was crowded and I think half of them were locals since you did not need a room key to get in. My son got sick that evening so we had to exchange sheets but they did not have an extra mattress pad to give us so we slept on the rock hard mattress. There were people cooking in their rooms and burning the food. The smoke alarm was going off in one room and my husband had to go to the front desk and tell someone. The next day we went to Holland State park and loved it- but when we got back to the hotel we decided to leave. We knew they did not clean the room at all. When we gave the room a once over to make sure we got everything, my husband looked under the bed and found french fries and straws... we did not eat in the room at all!! The pictures on the website are deceiving. It is very old and needs a lot of updates. The breakfast was gross. Everyone is sharing a syrup for the waffles. Half the rooms have exterior corridors and the interior rooms smelled. I would avoid this place. July 2014

Room Tip: No room here is a good room.

this place overpriced and understaffed. I was very unimpressed for the $179/night price. Def won't stay there again. upon check in there was a line out the door and only one staff member to handle it. they were hosting a large event and were sold out for two nights, they could have been better prepared. our room was unlocked when going in and there were kids playing in the halls. food from a previous guest was left in our room. the pool was overrun with teens playing loud music and splashing so use of the hot tub was unenjoyable. despite the sing that said children must be accompanied by adults there were tons running around and no staff stopping them. our friends had a clogged toilet in their room and a dirty tub.
