“DONT GO, YOU WILL LOSE YOUR DEPOSIT”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 21 July 2013

We rented a cabin and the thrift store 1960's sofa bed was previously broke and rigged together, needless to say it broke again on us but the broken piece was missing(so when did it actually break?) and we got charged 100.00 deposit for a sofa bed that people give away free on craigslist. The owners were really nice and told us what we wanted to hear before we booked but were actually scam artists. If you stay in one of the rentals there be ready to lose your 100.00 deposit or make sure you completly check out everything, even how the furniture is built(or rigged). However it is a very nice area to visit but i would just stay somewhere else. GOOD LUCK AND BEWARE......

Room Tip: Bring your own camper or tents...

When Andrew O and his family arrived and all the paper work was finished I met them at their cabin and showed them through it and explained to them the various workings within. They arrived on a Friday night and checked out the following Sunday morning. At no time during Andrew's Family stay did he report any problems, concerns or questions with anything in the cabin to the Office. Even when informing the office they were ready to check out of the cabin still no mention of any problem. It was when performing our routine inspection of the cabin I discovered that the hide-a-bed couch was visibly broken. After looking over the damage and with the willing aid of Andrew to place the moving frame into place I determined that it could be repaired and that I would return part of his secruity deposit. So Yes I did keep $80.00 of the $100.00 security deposit Andrew O paid. We could not rent the cabin while making the repair.

We stay here when we visit Michigan's Adventure. This is an excellent family campground. We stayed there in the summer of 2010 with a group and had a blast. We moved at the end of 2010 to North dakota. We visit Michigan's adventure the next summer when we came to Michigan. We stayed 2 nights at oak knoll. We reserved our spot online. When we got there they remembered us from the year before. There is a park for the kids, a small store for basic supplies and showers and bathrooms. This is a smaller campground , you can let the kids go play and you can keep an eye on them. If you are planning on partying seek another place, this is a quiet family campground. The surrounding area is beautiful. There is a lake across the road. It is about 20 minutes from MA and 30-45 minutes from silver lake sand dunes.

We stayed here for a week and really enjoyed our time. We rented the small cabin and we loved it! We also own a large tent but for the price why not have a nice cabin with A/C!!! The small cabin easily will fit 4 people without being cramped and even if it's raining you can sit on the porch swing and not get wet. We were very impressed with how clean the cabin was and how good of shape it was in. I dare anyone to find a cabin with all of the same features at there price. Overall I would definitely go back again. When we stayed we had the campground to our self due to being early in the season but after a busy weekend we noticed that the cleaning of the bathrooms was a little relaxed. Again this could be because we were the only campers but we just wished that after the rush of the weekend that they would have been scrubbed right after. When it was busy they kept up on them. Dale and Deb are 2 very nice campground hosts and you can't go wrong camping here.

Room Tip: If renting a cabin ask if they purchased the new mattresses and if not bring something extra to slee...

Imagine if you will....tree covered sites...clean... comfortable... A place where you can enjoy the bright sunny days as well as the rain in the afternoon... i had the good fortune of spending Aug. 3 through Aug. 12 2012 in this campground... the owners live on site and have made this place a wonderful place to visit... you roll in as you do many campgrounds however...here you are greeted with the firm yet friendly handshake of Dale... you automatically feel welcomed..then as you start to settle in..you notice the smile and warm heart of Deb... i have never known two better suited people that have chosen the life of running a place for all of us to enjoy then Deb and Dale... I for one love the western side of Michigan ... there is so much to offer ... if your one to stay on the beaten path or the one that likes to explore this place is for you... i have searched for a place that i feel safe bringing my family to... and after looking at all of the other campgrounds in the area and comparing prices and amenities... i have come to the conclusion that Oak Knoll is the only true choice ... located far enough away to give you the buffer we all look for... yet close enough to be anywhere you want with in just a few miles... so my advise is simple... bring your tent for a rustic site or pop-up or small trailer to the larger one if you have it for the full service site... or like me...rent a sleeping cabin or even a trailer if that is more your style... say hello to your neighbors and get to know the two people that love what they do and how they live.... i can not thank Deb and Dale enough for giving me and mine the camping experience that so fitted my needs... i will return for that cup of coffee and friendly chat.. thank you again my friends.. until the next time...

I have been camping out at Oak Knolls for about 5 years well 4 years cause last year we went to another campground in Ohio NEVER NEVER AGAIN. I was spoiled to the way that Dale and Deb treat thier customers I felt ok being a city slicker and all that everyone out this way was like that Not. We love camping out here normally the family goes but this year we are having a reunion of Friends and Family because it's a GREAT place to camp. I have always found it to be very clean and organize with all the different types of camping areas. I would Recommend this places to all.

Oak Knoll is a very good campground for its type. We stayed in one of the wood cabins which I found to be very clean and convenient (the exact same as the ones most KOAs provide). The bathrooms were also clean and close. The camp itself is located very near a lot of the outdoor activities this area of Michigan provides (lakes and rivers!). We were coming from Chicago and looking for a relaxing, outdoor vacation and that's exactly what we got. Most valuable about this site, though, is its owners. Dale and Deb are extremely friendly and helpful. Dale especially took extra time to suggest places to go and to give us directions. The campground was very quiet and seems to have a lot of return customers. I highly recommend it.
