“PLEASANT STAY”
Reviewed 9 September 2013

We have stayed here for the last 3 years, attending the boat races on the Indian River. With each visit, the hotel has made improvements and updates. Staff is always courteous and friendly and willing to go out of their way to make your stay a pleasant one. Room we stayed in had been recently redecorated with new carpet, spread, and vanity. Continental breakfast was right on target.... at no charge. (Bagels, cereal , fruit etc)
Go right on in and enjoy. We , after all, are not in Manhattan folks! We will be back Indian River! ! Thanks!

Room Tip: Ask for recently updated room. They will make every effort to accommodate.

Our room was pleasant, simply furnished but clean. The room was quiet, although you could hear footfalls from upstairs, but not enough to be a problem. The desk staff were efficient pleasantly friendly. The continental breakfast was so-so-- not great, but certainly in line with what you would expect. Our experience here was pretty positive-- It aint the Ritz-Carlton but I cannot confirm other reviewers negative review.

Made reservation months ago by phone unable to get any confirmation at that time on arrival rate was $50 more / night they did drop it down by $20.Had trouble with ants in room, motel is shabby and not shabby chic.My sister requested a handicap room, placing a shower chair inside a tub does not make a room handicap accessible.

We apologize for any confusion, but we do give out a confirmation number for all reservations made thru us. Our handicap accessible rooms are completely different from our standard rooms and they are fully wheelchair accessible and ADA Compliant. We hope we get a chance to show you the differences. Thank you.

Room had king sized bed and whirlpool. Bed had weird unfitted mattress pad on top which the sheet barely covered and after one night of sleeping on it, it had slid way down on the bed. Not very clean, and the pool was in constant use by locals! They advertise their newly renovated pool and hot tub. Kids and teenagers hung out there all day long, apparently the hotel sells passes for pool use. Sorry, but not what I expect or want at a place that is supposed to be a decent getaway. Breakfast was a terrible excuse for a continental breakfast. Everything was dry and there wasn't much to choose from. Service was mediocre.

Your feed back is very important to us and our goal is your comfort. Our hotel does have an indoor heated pool and hot tub and we do have adult swim hours available for your enjoyment. Our free continental breakfast does offer hot sausage gravy over biscuits along with many other options available in our breakfast room. We do hope when your able to get a way again, that you will choose to stay with us!

Recently stayed at the hotel in March and was disturbed by the dirty rest rooms in the lobby. After seeing our room this made the restrooms look clean. The room had dirt around the edge, garbage under the bed, shower curtain had mold on it, drip stains down the sink. Went to complain to front desk that also looked unprofessional, shirts hanging out, no name tag, tattoos and very rude. Ask to speak to a manager and she talked to me like it was a privilege to stay there. Never seen such a lack of care in a place that is supposed to be in the business of hospitality. Also I don't know where the last two comments came from on here but they sound like the manager wrote them.

Staff was outgoing, friendly, courteous and helpful. Knowledgeable abou thing to do in the area. Staff went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable. Great variety for a free breakfast. Room very clean and good sized. Linens clean and fresh. Had lovely pool and hottub. Just what we needed after driving all day. Price was comparable to other hotels in the area but only place we found with a pool. Was good to be close to everything we needed.

What an amazing little gem in northern Michigan. Great location right off I-75. Stayed here with my family and had a wonderful time. Room was clean and cozy, even had free cable and wi-fi. And heated pool and hottub were a great bonus. Staff was friendly and helpful. And the free breakfast. WOW! what a deal, juice, milk, cereal, muffins, bagels, toast, and even biscuits and gravy. Something for everyone. Awesome value and not way verpriced like some hotels.
