Description: The Kalamazoo Beer Exchange is a two-story multi-tap bar and grill located in the beautifully restored Globe Building in downtown Kalamazoo. Offering 28 rotating draught beers from around the world, The Exchange opens at 6 p.m., where draught beers are priced on real-time sales, like the stock market. Occasional "market crashes" drop beer prices to their all-time low. The food menu features pub fare with a twist, where classic dishes will be made new again.

Whenever we travel we enjoy trying local places unique to that town. Went here for dinner last night. The pot pie is okay, could use a little but more flavor.

The chicken kabobs were dry but the couscous was yummy! The pulled pork "sloppy joe" had great flavor and decent fries. The grilled salmon was great!

Lots of different beers on tap and they run specials every 12 minutes. Service was great!

This is a beer hall, pure and simple. Food is acceptable. Won't offend but nothing memorable. The gimmick is the Beer Exchange. Prices go up or down based on what is being purchased in the place. Occasionally they have a "market crash" where the prices go down by half or so. Cute, but really not that interesting. Large selection of beer on tap and many in bottles/cans. Place is renovated factory and the decor is pleasant. Atmosphere is a bit loud, as appropriate for such a place. All in all, interesting but nothing really special.

Need I say more? The food is good too and the atmosphere, plus I like the huge bar upstairs and the outdoor patio.

Went for dinner. Ordered entrees. Wife ordered steak well done, potatoes, and substitute corn for veg medley. Arrived with steak undercooked. Steak went back. Wife began eating potatoes and found hair that was not ours. Full plate sent back. Steak brought out was diff cut and not good. A new full plate arrived. New steak undercooked and it came with veg medley, not corn. By then a lot of time had passed and lost appetite.

Service staff said all the right things. They discounted meal significantly. Hopefully just a mistake on a busy Saturday night.

As titled, atmosphere is cool and energized. Great old brick building with various seating options. Good beer variety.

Four of us gather at the Beer Exchange after a long move from Kansas to Michigan. We were looking for a place to unwind by knocking down some craft beers, but were surprise that this establishment had good food too. The food was inexpensive and tasty. The server was courteous and provide us with plenty of information on how the beer exchange concept worked. Enjoy the market crashes.
