A bit of a hole-in-the-wall size wise, but much larger in spirit and comfort. A sunny ambiance and a creative menu make this an unexpected surprise. The staff is friendly and helpful and want you to have a good experience - even a little overeager - but it's forgivable as they're just trying hard to please. Lots of local veggies on the menu - e.g. a wonderful spinach and swiss omelette and blueberry pancakes when blueberries in season, and the coffee is far better than you'd expect. Espresso even. And, there's a terrific newstand next door (Michigan News - best in the region, packed to the gills with newspapers and magazines) - so you can pick up a newspaper or magazine then head for a great meal. Hard to beat, best in Kalamazoo!

The owners of this breakfast and lunch restaurant in downtown Kalamazoo sure know how to make a good meal! From their nearly made to order pancake batter (because they go through it so quick) to their sandwiches made with local produce, everything always tastes fresh. The staff is incredibly friendly and always looking to improve your meal. A tip from a waitress I had: try their homemade strawberry or raspberry jam all over your french toast. It tastes just like a jelly donut!

The Studio Grill is a marvelous breakfast restaurant (I've heard the hamburgers are nummy also, but haven't been there for anything but breakfast). Their sauces are fresh and everything I have had there is the best! It adds a special touch also when the owner comes out to check on how you like the food. Great place!

Studio Grill is easily my favorite place to get breakfast and lunch in Kalamazoo. It is a small place with a very friendly atmosphere. The tables and chairs remind me of my grandmother's house, and the walls are always decorated with local art. The staff is friendly, and the owners always make rounds to check in and make sure everyone's meals are satisfactory. I always feel welcome and at home here.

The food is absolutely fantastic. They easily have the best pancakes and french toast in town, and their barbeque pulled pork sandwich is to die for. There is also a seemingly endless amount of unique stuffed burgers to try. If you are a vegan or vegetarian, there are a lot of great options as well. My girlfriend is vegan and loves the vegan pancakes and the vegan texas tank (a vegan black bean burger). Also, sweet potato fries! They cost extra, but they are excellent! I highly recommend Studio Grill to anyone passing through or living in Kalamazoo.

We went there for breakfast with our friends. The choice of food was various so something good for everybody.
The coffee was good (since we are Europeans we judge the US coffee a bit different ;) ) Ichossed the spinache omelett with feta, mushrooms and I added ham to it. It came with your choice of toast and hash browns .. It tasted wonderful! The portion although is very generous ;)
Very friendly service, a real neighbourhood place-to-be!
