My wife and I loved the Birch Kottage for an overnight getaway recently. Very roomy, beautifully decorated, great amenities, extremely comfortable. Kara did not miss a single detail. It was a little different B&B experience to make your own breakfast, but the kitchen was so well stocked it turned out great. Really amazing what you get for the price. It was also different from the standpoint that we never saw other guests or even Kara. It was like it was our own place, which made it even more enjoyable.

A little bit of traffic/train noise, but it wasn't a big deal. I highly recommend this place!

What a wonderful place to stay!! We just wanted to sneak away from the house for a night, and it was like we went from one home to another. Kara has truly outdone herself with every detail. From the time we walked in, we were amazed with the attention she has paid to make us feel at home. The feel of the electric fireplace, the comfy bed, and the kitchen stocked with pretty much every breakfast item we could hope for. I look forward to coming back, and bringing the family with me next time. 5 stars all the way!!!!

Room Tip: Driftwood was awesome!

Such a gorgeous Place! It had everything I was looking for and more. Kara thought of every little detail. We were able to make breakfast and enjoy a lazy morning. There's a patio with a Grill and a fire pit. Separate entrances so you don't have to mingle with the other guests if you don't want to like normal B&B's. There's sooo much space so your not crowded. I absolutely loved it here and recommend it to anyone who is looking to get away but still wants to feel at home. Thanks Kara for an Amazing time!

We stayed at K.K.'s in Kzoo in March 2013. Arriving late, we entered the Pine Cone suite to a warm, inviting "gas fire" and immediately felt relieved, relaxed, and at home. We had never done a B&B, and though Kara's is more of a "hybrid" B&B and "extended stay hotel" (no common areas, no prepared breakfast, but a fully stocked fridge and the quaint ambience expected). So, don't expect a host at your beck and call, but a still an awesome place to visit whenever in Kalamazoo, and if unsure about venturing into the land of Bed & Breakfast Inns, this would be the perfect starting point.

What a find- like a hotel suite in a house!! We got 2 bedrooms with a Queen, Double and twin. Perfect for my husband, myself and 3 picky kids (19,17,12)!! Plus a big bathroom, decent size living area and kitchen stocked with food!! So much more than a hotel at the same price as a good hotel. Plus it was SUPER clean and the beds were very comfortable with nice linens and duvets. Even my college age daughter who does not like your usual B and B admitted she really liked it!!

Found Kara's Kottages through Trip Advisor, so was fairly certain that I would not be disappointed. And I was not. I was in town for a meeting, and the Pine Cone suite was the perfect environment in which to decompress at the end of the day. Kara's attention to detail is everything the other reviewers have mentioned. The suite is absolutely spotless, warm, and welcoming. I appreciated the independence of the self-check-in, and having off-street parking. The only down side was that I couldn't share this experience with a loved one, so will have to come back, maybe in the middle of winter, and enjoy the fireplace and share an omlette and scones for breakfast

Room Tip: The Pine Cone Suite is perfect for one or a couple

My boyfriend and I stayed here for just one night, but would have liked to stay all week. So cozy and cute, great location close to downtown but out of action in a quiet nook. So much thought has gone into the rooms, making you feel welcome and well taken care of. Very clean and nice updates. The bed was super comfortable - slept in for once in a long time. Will stay again.
