No matter what I get there, it always tastes great! Reasonably priced, lots of food. Do not be deceived by the outside, the food is top notch.
My favorite is the tofu curried with coconut milk and lemongrass.

Yet another Kalamazoo secret. Yet another restaurant you're going to walk right by unless someone has told you about it.

Rasa Ria is a tiny restaurant near WMU and they do mostly takeout business. You're welcome to dine in if there is a table available, but don't expect any kind of ambiance. You eat at Rasa Ria's for the authentic Asian cuisine, not for the dining experience.

This is a great choice if you're having lots of friends over and want to share plates. Even my picky kids can find food to their liking on the menu. If you're sick of generic Chinese food, give Rasa Ria a try.

Their 'Beef Rendang' is awesome and flavorful! Plenty of choices between Malaysian or Indonesian food. Tried most of it and it's yummy!! Regular eating place for me and my family. I don't mind going there everyday :) Reasonable place, friendly people. Check it out!!

I was a student @ WMU from 2001 - 2007. Since they open for business, this place has been a regular for Malaysian and Indonesian students - I guess that explains it all. Why wouldn't we go to a regular Chinese Restaurant that often? The reason is simple - those Asian restaurants out there are not Authentic.

Tips for a good ethnic food serving restaurant - look around when you're there and see how many people from other ethnic backgrounds actually eat there. For instance, if you visit a Japanese restaurant with a lot of Japanese eating there - you know its gonna be good.

This place is all about the food, the cuisine is sort of a mix of Thai and Indian...it is familiar but unique at the same time. The standard menu items are very good, but the specials are what really make this place special. If you like spicy, really, really, sinus draining, spicy, then the Chili Chicken on Thursday is not to be missed. (Get it early, because they do sell out) The Satay special is also worth a try. Not fancy by any stretch of the imagination and prices are about what you would expect. If you are in the mood to talk, chat up the owners, very interesting folks.
