“Comfortable Room”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 20 February 2013

I was very satisfied with my room and the amenities such as coffee pot, refrigerator, microwave, comfortable bed, and magnifying mirror in the bathroom. The only downside was that I didn't plan to leave the hotel to eat and the food was not very good quality. As far as the rooms go, I would stay here again but would plan to eat elsewhere. Free wi-fi is always a plus. It actually seemed to work better in my room than in some of the common areas.

Room Tip: Just ask for what you want and be sure to ask about discounts. My room had a single King bed and was...

Overall things have improved since the change to Best Western, and all the remodeling and renovations that followed that. The lounge and common areas look great now. The contemporary decor continues in the rooms, and mine looked great. However, the debris in between the bed and the nightstand really detracted from the effect. So did the sticky bathroom floor. Otherwise the room looked clean, but stuff like that makes you wonder about everything else.

The king bed was comfortable, and had lots of pillows, enough that I didn't have to ask for extras like I usually do. The desk chair was broken and leaning to one side, which didn't matter to me for a one night stay, but the next guest might not be too happy about that.

I used the free airport shuttle, and the young man who drove was very pleasant and helpful. Likewise the front desk staff who assisted me in getting my boarding passes printed when the business center's printer didn't work.

I didn't know that the comp breakfast wasn't included with my room, but the manager on duty told the hostess to give it to me anyway. The food was hot and tasty, although I would have liked a wider selection of food.

We stayed one night in a Jacuzzi suit with a small queen size bed bed and a noisy room heater. The room was nice like it had just been remodeled. They even included a bidet in the bathroom along with a nice walk in shower. The jacuzzi is nice but on the smaller size so if your a big person you may want to reconsider. Parking is across the street no matter what side you stay in so you have to unload then go park your car. Pool was warm and hot tub was HOT we didn't venture outside but it looks like they have some nice courtyard areas for summer. Hallways looked and smelled clean.

Room Tip: They have several jacuzzi suits some with king size beds need to ask about them.

I stayed at this hotel for 3 nights and I was extremely satisfied. From the marvelous, contemporary decor to the amenities that makes staying in not an issue at all. Indoor pool and jacuzzi(the jacuzzi could use a good cleaning), a sauna, a private deck (great for smoking since the entire hotel is smoke free), and an arcade all located in the lower level of the hotel, makes a great recreation area for the family. There's a bar/lounge area and has a nice happy hour crowd. The linens were plush and with the 42" TV, microwave and fridge there was absolutely no need to leave, especially in 3-4 inches of snow. Definitely would stay again.

Traveling all the way from Australia to Lansing for a convention every May, this hotel became my home away from home as I stayed at least a week each time. It was originally Holiday Inn, then Causeway Bay Inn and finally Best Western. Seeing my 'old home' being torn to bits and remodeled I was wary of the outcome, and even sad. Then, arriving last May, 2012, the place was amazing! I have traveled a lot and stayed in many different hotels. The Best Western Plus had the equal most comfortable bed I've ever slept in. (the other the Hilton Melbourne... but you had to be a mountain goat to climb in) So The Best Western takes first place for most comfort and an elegance of design you'd expect (but often dont' get) in places like the Hilton. Really beautiful, tasteful decor done with flair. The staff were as always helpful, courteous and personable, making me feel at home again. The manager, to my amazement, loaned his Mercedes Benz and shuttle bus driver to me for the return leg to the airport. Talk about traveling in style! How good is that! The convention, sadly, won't be at this hotel this year, and I'm considering whether it's worth my while flying so far (from Tasmania) to stay in a Ramada near Lansing Airport. Sure it's $15 a night cheaper, but it's $150 less in comfort as near as i can tell, from the Best Western. I'll miss my second home! Highly recommended. Great value.

Stayed overnight on business and found the hotel to be convenient and friendly. Very comfortable and impressed with the size of the facility and amenities. Has nice restaurant and bar that is convenient if you don't feel like going out. Will stay here again if I am in the Lansing area.
