Front desk staff are friendly, professional and accommodating. The hotel is clean, situated near many restaurants and main roads. Great complimentary breakfast and food and refreshments in the evening. Housekeeping does a great job. The rooms are spacious and well-furnished, with equipped kitchenettes. This is where I always stay when I come to Lansing!

And we’re always glad to see your return! Making it feel as close to home for our guests as it can get on the road is our only mission. We understand that the way of the road for travelers can sometimes be lonely and that a familiar face that knows you by name might just be the high point at the end of a long and weary day. And we understand that you may grow attached to a certain suite and we’ll do our best to put you back into familiar digs…a place that’s come to feel like home for you. From all of us at the hotel, we thank you for your very kind words, and continued loyalty to the Lansing Residence Inn.

This is a decent property. I had no major problems, but I wasn't blown away -- I've stayed in nicer Residence Inns.

The room was a typical Residence Inn room. I was in a one-bedroom suite. It didn't have a desk, so I had to set-up my laptop, etc. on the kitchen table.

The property was in need of some renovation -- old wallpaper in the kitchen and bathroom areas, dirty carpets in the hallway, dust collecting in some corners, worn furniture fabric.

I checked in right around 3pm, and the hotel seemed to struggle to find a clean room even though this was check-in time. The next day, I returned to my room around 2pm, and housekeeping hadn't yet provided service. (It was clean by later that night).

The breakfast was nice.

Overall, a decent stay -- but some improvements could be made.

Great news! We’re planning several capitol improvements for the coming year. We’re
enlarging the Gatehouse to provide a spacious dining area for our buffet breakfasts and evening socials, and installing new flat screen TVs in all suites, as a running change. Future stays with us will note these and other upgrades in progress. Decent but moving toward greatness, is going in the right direction!

We stayed in this Residence Inn sadly for only 1 night while on our way to Niagara Falls, Ontario. This one-night-stay quickly became a guide post for the remainder of our 19 day trip. I would have to say that this hotel certainly raised the bar, and we will be sure to look for other Residence Inns as we make future travel arrangements.

I would agree with the previous reviewer in that the lobby was suprisingly tight and compact. Our room, however, was another story. We had never stayed at a Residence Inn before, so we didn't know what to expect. What we found was a rather large, well-designed floor plan. We were traveling with extended family, so we were delighted to walk in and find a completely functional kitchen that not only had an oven/stove, but also a dishwasher! Wow! The family/living area was well-appointed, which included a fireplace, two windows, a couch, chair, and a television. The only drawback, I would say, is that the heating/cooling dial was located in this room. The bedrooms did not have separate units. While my parents were cold on their side, we were warm on ours. It was hard to find a happy medium. This, however, did not impact our appreciation of the accommodations. On either side of the family/living room was a bedroom, each with a king-size bed and another television. What's more, each bedroom had its own full bathroom. Another WOW!!!!! Each room had their own door, so privacy was ensured. Another nice touch. The beds and pillows were extremely comfortable. After a long day of travel, such details were very much appreciated.

To our surprise, the next morning we were afforded an incredible breakfast. Again, no other accommodation on our 19 day trip could even compare to the selection offered at this Residence Inn, including a bed & breakfast that we stayed at. While at the Residence Inn, we were greeted with a variety of hot and cold items, including, but not limited to bacon, sausage, eggs, English muffins, sweet muffins, fresh fruit, and the best pre-made oatmeal I have ever had. I know it's hard to get excited about oatmeal; but, as an extra touch, pecans, brown sugar, dried fruit, etc. was available for toppings. For the eggs, you could add salsa, black olives, and even slices of jalapenos!!!!!! The young woman who maintained the breakfast area was like a hummingbird, flitting around, refilling all the goodies, and keeping the area immaculate.

This hotel was all about the details. It seemed quite apparent that the customer was king/queen, and whatever made the customer happy made them happy. Ahhh....isn't that what a vacation is all about? Choose this Residence Inn!

If you loved our oatmeal, you’ll go bananas over our evening social offerings! We’re
Featuring signature dishes from many of our finer local bistros and café’s such as
Cheddar’s, Hooters, Carrabbas and Finley’s so it’s everything from wings, ribs, chicken and pasta prepared by Lansing’s best chefs. So yes! We care about the details and do the extra to make your stay memorable and worth repeating!

This was a rather small, cookie cutter Residence Inn. When we checked in around dinner time, there was only one person on staff at the hotel. She was friendly and quickly brought us extra bedding. The room was clean enough, but it did smell a bit musty. There were several restaurants within walking distance, including a nice sushi place. In order to use the free internet, you had to borrow and special hookup from the front desk. The biggest thing we didn’t like about the hotel was that the lounge area was way too small. There was a group of kids and families there during our stay, and when they came down for breakfast there was nowhere for anyone else to sit. It felt very cramped. For happy hour they served pizza, and it was gone within the first half hour. They did not have beer and wine like we have had at other places. The little pool area looked nice but we did not use it. Next time we are in Lansing, we would probably choose someplace else to stay. We enjoy a roomier lobby with a little more room to relax.

Recently, my husband and I, along with 3 friends stayed for 5 days at the Residence Inn located on Delta Commerce Drive in Lansing Michigan. Only one other time have I had such a pleasant hotel experience.

We stayed in a two room suite, which included the living area with pull-out couch, chair, coffee table, fireplace and tv, the kitchen area including a table with seating for four, and two fully enclosed bedrooms with doors, both with their own bathrooms (I mention the full enclosure with doors because we've stayed in another Residence Inn two room configuration where the second bedroom was more like a loft, with only a partial wall and no door). Each bedroom had a comfortable king sized bed, dresser and tv. Our room had a desk with chair and our friends' room had a larger dressing area room with double vanity in the bathroom. The different configurations of room actually worked well-my husband and I had the room with the desk for his work lap top and our friends, both female, had the extra vanity area, allowing both of them to do their hair and make up simultaneously.

A third friend stayed on the pull-out couch, which he said was uncomfortable but I think that can be said of any pull out couch.

We requested a room on an upstairs floor, away from the parking lot, with extra pillows and towels since we had a 5th person. When we arrived, we were pleased to find our room in the back corner of the top floor with no other guests on either side of us, resulting in a very quiet stay.

The front desk quickly took care of bringing up the extra towels and toiletries and we settled in for our first night. Later, the front desk rang up to see if we had any other needs--an unexpected but appreciated courtesy.

The room was very clean and we slept very comfortably. Our microwave, dishwasher, coffee pot, fridge and freezer all worked correctly. We did not use the stove/oven but I assume it did as well. We were pleasantly surprised to find that our fridge even included an ice maker.

Housekeeping took wonderful care of our room every day, knocking too early only once and providing daily service even on the day where a late night the night before prevented us from getting up before the daily housekeeping deadline. We left a tip daily and every day we found the money neatly folded back up and placed on our tv.

Were it not for the fact that we passed other guests in the hallways, we could have easily assumed that we were the only guests in the entire hotel because it was THAT quiet. We never heard hallway noise or noise from downstairs or from the parking lot outside.

Every staff member we encountered was helpful and friendly. Every time we passed anyone in the hall, we were asked if we needed or wanted anything. At one point as a box we were using to wrap a gift for the wedding we were in town to attend broke, a friendly member of the housekeeping staff went and found packing tape that we could borrow to fix the box. On another occasion, she delivered extra towels to my room after we passed in the hall and I told her that we were taking our existing towels to the pool.

The jacuzzi was very warm (102 degrees!) and relaxing! It was also deep enough with wide benches for seating that we could completely stretch out and relax, fully immersed.

The shower heads in the bathrooms were placed high enough that neither my husband or I (both over 6 feet tall) bumped our heads or had to contort in funny positions to get under the shower--both rare experiences in our hotel stays.

My complaints were minor. The fruit at breakfast was severely under-ripe, which was disappointing considering there were not many other "healthy" breakfast options. The pool, though indoors, was much colder than we've experienced in other indoor pools but beyond that, we had not a single mishap or complaint in our 5 day stay.

I wanted to thank and congratulate Residence Inn and the management and staff of that particular location on a job well done. Because we had such a restful, peaceful "home base" for the week, we were able to completely enjoy our vacation. Thank you, most sincerely. If we ever return to the area, we will not hesitate to return to this hotel.

My husband and I now reside in Florida but had previously resided in Lansing, MI. We sold our Lansing home in November 2006 but were not moving to Florida until April 2007. From November 2006 to the end of April 2007, we "lived" at the Residence Inn Lansing West. The front desk staff and housekeeping staff went way beyond our expectations to ensure we were comfortable and that everything was just right. If we were going to be larriving late from the office, all I had to do was call and advise the staff and they would set aside servings of the evening meal for us. They even made sure we had some of their delicious homemade cookies for our evenings!

Because we were at the Inn for such a long period, it was only reasonable that we would experience a couple of nights where guests became a bit noisy. However, all we had to do was ring the front desk staff and they immediately toook care of the noisy occupants.

We visited family in Michigan in January 2008 and, of course, returned to the Inn to stay during our visit. Many of the same staff were there and, as always, we were treated extremely well. I highly recommend this Residence Inn and I applaud the wonderful staff!

My DH and spent two weekend nights at this hotel. Check in was a breeze. Our room was on the third floor. Great condition- nicely appointed. The king bed was very comfortable. It was cold and snowy - the lobby fireplace was very inviting.

The breakfast was OK - the selection at 8:45 was not good. They stopped serving at 9:30. The breakfast room was packed with people - the hotel was full.

There were many kids at the hotel. We asked the mgmt to ask them to stop running in the hallway at 11pm. Where were the parents?????

We did not use the pool and hot tub - it looked nice though. We did use the treadmill- and found them to be in good working order.

We would most definitely stay here again. There is a great restaurant just a few feet from the hotel - called UKAI - a Japanese Hibachi Steakhouse. Good meal - interesting atmosphere!
