“Love is in the air at Oak Cove!”

Our family stays at Oak Cove Resort every year for one week in June. We always have the best time! We waterski, eat too much, cook out, relax by the pool, and play different sports all day. The owners, Bob and Susan, take great care of us and serve excellent food.

And it wasn't even my biological family that I was there with! I went to oak cove for four days with a friend from college (we just graduated a couple months ago) and her whole extended family. I can't tell you the last vacation I went on that was this peaceful and relaxing. Laying out by the pool with everyone was a fabulous time and being out on the lake is such a great time with a beautiful view! The service was amazing, and so was the food! I love the way they have the whole place set up. It is the perfect family vacation spot if you're looking for something different than going to the beach or on a cruise. An all American vacation spot with homey comfort and no passport needed! Count me in!

Just got back from a wonderful week at Oak Cove Resort. What a great place for our family. Bob and Susan treat you like part of their family, serving Breakfast and Dinner each Day (on Sunday we had a lakefront cookout!). I love the view, out of the porch where the meals are served looking high over the lake. I had a blast fishing off the dock with my older son. We caught bluegills, sunfish, perch and an occasional bass and bullhead right off the dock. They have row boats too but we did better off the dock than out in the lake. The kids enjoyed playing ball on their field and swimming in the pool. The boys beat me at shuffleboard every time. The kids also enjoyed the Fun House which has a pay pool table (50-cents) and some really old arcade games and a jukebox.
They have different cabins and houses. Our cabin faced the lake so when I did have to work I set up my laptop on the cabin's porch facing the lakefront. All in all a glorious week.

Oak Cove is a return to similar times when cell phones and the internet did not rule our world. The owners are like family to us now and each time we arrive it is more like a long visit then beginning a vacation. You arrive at this resort nestled in amongst the trees and you are instantly transformed. This is a place to relax, to play, and to reconnect. You can swim in the heated pool or take a dip in Lake Cora; paddle boats and canoes are also available for a peaceful jaunt around the lake. If reading or reflecting is your mood, there are many places on the grounds that provide the perfect setting. And the sunrises - You have to see the sunrise over Lake Cora Breakfast and dinner are served each day and the meals are delicious and plentiful. Good home cooking; no skimping on the old family recipe. I have been joining Susan & Bob for 6 years now and my fiancé for over 15 years and this is the one vacation our families look forward to every year. Oak Cove is not just a place, it is an experience, our experience and we love it.

i went and meet up with a larger group. sure, as another reviewer pointed out , there wasn't much beach, but that was due to the heavy rains of recent months, not a deliberate misleading on the part of the Proprietor. This is a fun place for a family, if you really want to bond. You rough it, but only a little bit; the rooms aren't large, but they are fine if you intend on using them namely for sleeping. the food is great, the staff is heavenly and there is plenty to do if you are an out-doors person . if you can't live without TV and whirlpool bath,
then this is not the place for you. Set on a beautiful lake, it's a nice refuge from city living !
oh, and the food is outstanding : )

Our family has come here off and on for 8 years with different groups and ages. As the kids get bigger it seems to get better and they seem to appreciate the quiet gentle pace as much as the adults do.You can do whatever....fish, swim, read, watch the kids play in the water and sand, meeting new friends and playmates(this year mother nature changed the beach much to our suprise, but we were unscathed) shuffle board, organize your own triatholon, walk, eat too much. The staff are so kind and warm. While the cottages may be small, they are also very clean. So if you can't live without TV or video games for a few days, this is probably not for you but if you know how to make your own fun, enjoy life, meeting other famillies on their journey, you can't help but have a wonderful, relaxing, life learning vacation, my boys learned the patience to wait for that great fish, how to row a boat, and quietly wait and watch. A week here can really slow you down to human life speed again. Watching the sunrise over Lake Cora is probably one of the best experiences my husband and I have shared and this vacation will always rate as one of our very best family memories. Thanks Bob and Susan for your great getaway.

Oak Cove Resort is the very definition of "quaint." It is warm, charming, relaxing, and you just can't beat Susan's wonderful food, even for special needs. It's always fresh and delicious! The staff is simply lovely and always pleasant and accommodating. The resort is restful and renewing. We've come many many times and always look forward to it!
