“Oak Cove - a perfect family hideaway”

We love Oak Cove Resort! We have been coming to the clear waters and sandy bottom of Lake Cora for 6 years and booked our reservation for 2011. This is a great place to enjoy family, make friends and let Susan and Bob do the cooking and hosting. Our children love to swim, boat, fish, bike ride and enjoy nature. They are eager to spot tiny frogs near the lake and toads near the firewood pile by flashlight at night - catch, smile, release and search again. There is a family friendly flea market and corner grocery a short walk or bike ride away. The cottages are simple and comfortable with no t.v. or phone. There is a game room with a pool table, t.v. with videos, juke box and card table. The sunsets are breathtaking. Leave your worries behind and make memories here.

We have been going to Oak Cave nearly every year for 11 years! It's almost as if we have our own summer cottage we look forward to going to every year.... the kids start asking when we get to go starting mid-winter!!!! Our first visit was the first time since I had kids that we could relax and enjoy ourselves on vacation in a safe, quiet down to earth way. The accommodations are private, quiet, no frills but very clean and comfortable. There's plenty of outdoor activities for the kids; swimming, fishing, boating, hiking, games, frog catching, sandcastles, swing set...... everything is right there for you to use! It's like civilized camp for the whole family with out the councilors of course! And you don't need to worry about breakfast and dinner in a restaurant! Just go up to the lodge when you hear the bell ring to eat a home cooked meal at your own family's table! No waiting, no fuss about where to sit and what to eat - just enjoy! And when the kids are done before you are (as usual!) you can watch them play on the sing set while you finish your yummy dessert! It is really wonderful to have the freedom to enjoy each other in such a pleasant, friendly environment! We love it and can't wait til next summer!
OH! And Susan and Bob are the best!

My 2 adult sisters and I shared the Bird's Nest so it was crowded but didn't spend time there during the day and it was comfortable at night. Plenty of hot water and very clean.

Grounds are very well kept, pool is sparkling clean. Each cabin/room has personality and all the guests were friendly. Food is delicious, breakfast and supper, and Bob and Sue bend over backward to accommodate any special needs. Plenty of room to play outdoors but nothing is too far away.

This was a family reunion and we stayed in several cabins but there were places we could gather as a group (17). Evenings we played games together in Park Place's dining room and living room.

No wifi if that matters but went to town for lunch and took computer to keep in touch with those who couldn't come.

Oak Cove Resort is a perfect place for couples and/or families to relax. Enjoy the pool, lake, canoes, free golf, horseshoes, shuffleboard, delicious home-cooking, and gracious hosts. Our cabin was clean, air-conditioned, and included a microwave oven and small refrigerator. The grounds were green and filled with trees. We had a truly relaxing Labor Day Weekend vacation.

A true family resort. Susan and Bob are wonderful, gracious hosts. They make sure everyone feels welcome and really care about their guests. Great family place to unwind and reconnect. Turn off your cell phone and TV. This is a great place to enjoy the lake, swimming, fishing, shuffle board, volleyball, camp fires, baseball, etc. The food is homestyle and the accomodations are clean. Everyone is friendly and the staff is very attentive. Highly recommended for family get-aways. Free golf too!

Our group stayed in houses and cabins.
The houses were spacious, clean and comfortable.
The cabins, were clean and comfortable, but relatively cramped.

The atmosphere, hospitality and food were great.
Two meals a day are included in the package. Our kids have food allergies.
The owners were willing to make sure that our kids always had something available that they could and wanted to eat for each meal.

Br aware that this resort does not have any wireless or wired internet. So, if you want to catch up on email or work you need to drive to the nearest town to get connected.
Surprisingly, our teenagers really liked being there, and did not compain about missing facebook (much). They liked the (very clean) pool, and swimming in the lake.

It is a great place for families to connect.
