We stayed at the Inn because of it's fabulous location in downtown Leland. I felt I should write this review to warn others about what to expect. Having come from a bed & breakfast on Mission Peninsula the previous night the difference was stark. There was not that Inn or b&b level of hospitality I expected. The Innkeepers seemed indifferent about us and far more invested in their restaurant and the restaurant patrons. The room itself had very nice accomodations and was very clean, plus a fabulous view (Island Suite). It simply felt more hotel-like than Inn-like.

Over from uk, stayed couple of nights in Michigan to see the scenery and the fall colours - amazing. The Riverside Inn has four rooms only and our stay was really comfortable, like a small suite with small sitting area. Room was fresh and clean. Downstairs the breakfast was served in the bar area and was very nice, if simple. Highlight was evening meals, lovely wines from all over the world and beautiful steaks! Would recommend and definitely stay again. Warning - there is a real shortage of decent accommodation in this area - we previously almost stayed in a real dump so be careful......

Beautiful setting for a romantic dinner. The food was delicious and the staff was very accommodating to my food allergy. However service was somewhat lacking as my husband never had his water glass refilled and the server forgot to bring us our side order of very delicious beets. All in all a good experience and I will be back for brunch. Strange that this establishment didn't have any festive decorations for fall inside or out. Would have added greatly to the ambiance with some nice pumpkins and such.

We spent one night here and were happy with the room and the location. We stayed in the Island Suite overlooking the river. We explored Fishtown and walked to the shops. Nice view of the river and great restaurant. The only downside was that the pillows were very uncomfortable and there were no tv's on the property. We are not ones to watch alot of tv so this was ok but we do like to catch up on news in the evening and morning. The breakfast was ok - quiche and bagels, muffins, cereal, coffee and your choice of juice. All in all we had a nice stay.

Room Tip: Island Suite spacious and overlooking the river. Great breezes on a warm day!

Dinner is absolutely outstanding...5 star quality with a great selection of spirits and wine. The location of this Inn is simply perfect, however overshadowed by the owner's lack of hospitality. The waitstaff, servers, Whitney the bartender and Clair the hostess were warm, welcoming, and truly wanted to make your stay memorable. The owner, Kate, was a little chilly, and made you feel as though you were more of an inconvenience than a guest spending $110 - $160 a night. There are no amenities one would usually expect. They said there would be coffee in the morning. There was a dirty pot from the day before with no water or filters. The desk clerk told me to go into the bathroom and wash the pot and get water. The rooms were not very clean. Floors were soiled with dusty lamps, mirrors, and windowsills. Do not utilize the coverlet. It was clear it was not laundered after each guest. Bathroom was soiled with an unclean toilet. Overall, this is a beautiful Inn with such potential. The B&B is obviously an after thought, as the restaurant is the money in the property. Definitely go have dinner and glass of wine. Just sleep somewhere else.

Quaint, historic hotel. Service was outstanding. Location was great for walking around. Close to M-22. The room was clean. It was fortunate for me that the bed was SO COMFORTABLE, that I was able to fall asleep after I awoke from footsteps in the hall. The floors in the room were painted wood and quite creaky.

We had a delightful stay at the Riverside Inn and loved the town of Leland. Tom and Kate Sawyer went out of their way to make our stay as pleasant as possible and we were not disappointed. The food in the dining romm was the best meal we had the whole trip and we would highly recommend it. Thanks for a lovely stay!
