Fantastic place! My girlfriend and I are from Grand Rapids, MI, and wanted to get away for Labor Day weekend. We heard about this Shady Rest Bed and Breakfast, and it lived up to every expectation. "Sinfully comfortable beds" as my girlfriend put it. The bathrooms were exceptionally clean, as well.
The breakfast was also unbelievable (and plentiful)! All the food was made on the spot, not sitting there cold and old like at some B&B's. One morning we had eggs, sausage, bacon, toast, cheesy hash browns, and sliced fruit, the next morning we had french toast with caramel drizzling, thick sliced seared ham, and sliced fruit again.
The living room/ common room has a fridge for guests, stuffed with pop, waters bottles, juice, and ice cream klondike bars, along with a table with keurig coffee, bags of potato chips, and homemade cookies (delicious!).
Denise, the owner, and her husband, made our stay so delightful. She was helpful with everything: dinner recommendations, where to go, what to do, etc. When we come back to Lexington, we will definitely come back here, and highly recommend it to others.
