“Really lovely people, great stay”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 1 October 2012

My boyfriend and I stayed here this past weekend for his birthday. Captain Ron and Pat really made it a fantastic stay. They were so friendly and welcoming, and really made you feel like they wanted you to have a great time. Breakfast was AWESOME both days, and everything was very clean and tidy. The house was really cute, though we stayed in the cottage in the back for more privacy. The actual cottage is on the small side, but if you're there for a romantic weekend you won't mind. :) The location is great, within walking distance of everything in town including the beach/park. The only negative that I would mention is that the hot water does run out fairly quickly. But everything else is just wonderful.

Room Tip: We really enjoyed the cottage just for the privacy aspect and being able to come and go at night wit...

We were looking for a stopping point on our way from Chicago to Toronto and selected Captain's Quarters based on the reviews we saw in TripAdvisor. We were not disappointed. Pat and Ron make you feel like old friends. The Inn is comfortable and very clean. The two breakfasts we had were delicious - especially the Pecan Crusted French Toast. We enjoyed the easy access to the beach and the opportunity to spend a day relaxing by the lake.

One of the best B&B stays we've ever had. Pat & Captain Ron have thought of everything to make their guests feel welcome, comfortable and pampered.
I made my reservation on-line at 10 pm EST and was delighted to receive Pat's response right away. Travelling from CA, we needed a late check-in at 10 pm, which Pat so graciously accommodated.
The Inn was well air-conditioned, and our room (Huron) was spacious and inviting. (The shower stall in that rooms was tight for my 6'4" husband).
Breakfast was the highlight. Outstanding cooking by Captain Ron, along with memorable conversation with guests from all over. Pat provided fabulous information on what to see and do in the area.
The location is perfect. Close to downtown and the harbor, we were able to walk just about anywhere. The house itself is absolutely lovely and the grounds are beautifully landscaped. It was a pleasure to stay in such a well preserved historic treasure.

Dinner tip - drive to Port Sanilac and try the Lodge House. Made reservations at Van Camp House...but they ran out of food?!?!?

Thank you Pat & Captain Ron for a wonderful and memorable stay!!!

Just spent a night at this charming B&B on the way back from U.P. and Macinaw Is,This truly was the best B&B we have ever visited.Pat and Captain Ron were excellent hosts-making sure all the guests had everything they needed for a great holiday in Lexington.
The location was perfect-easy walk to Lake Huron and downtown. The gardens and rooms were not only welcoming but also immaculate.Breakfast was a delicious cooked to order meal with homemade jam and fresh raspberries.Definitely deserves a five star rating!Would highly recommend to all our friends.

What a find! On our way down state from Cheboygan, we headed to Lexington for an extra day of vacation to antique shop in the area. I had researched a few B&B's on the Lake to Lake B&B site, but didn't call them until we were almost in town. Pat sounded so welcoming on phone and offered a tour. One look at the pristine condition of the inn and we were sold! Pat is a gracious host and ensured our comfort and siteseeing, shopping and dining needs were met. We will definately return and recommend Captain's Quarters Inn to all our friends and relatives.

Room Tip: Every room is nicely appointed and clean. The detached cottage is adorable! The inn was very quiet...

Captain Ron and his lovely wife Pat should be in line for the most welcoming B&B hosts. We stayed in the cutest and cleanest garden cottage for one night, but wished we'd been able to stay longer. It had a super strong shower, great toiletries and fluffy towels.
Thanks to a recommendation from the Captain we ate at Steice's. (Try the meatloaf.) When we returned to the 'Captain's Quarters' Pat had put out tea and made us chocolate cookies!! How kind was that?
We disappointed Ron by turning down a full breakfast, though loved the raspberries he prepared for us instead. Nothing was too much trouble.
If you are in the area and looking for a place to stay, try here first. You may be lucky enough that the Captain and Pat have a vacancy.

Room Tip: The Captain will show you all available and you can choose.

The Captain's Quarters Inn is a very charming place. Although we did not stay at the Inn, we took photos for a couple that were married there. The grounds were very well manicured and presented an excellent atmosphere for the wedding and photos. There were also opportunities for photos at the nearby harbor and beaches. Ron and Pat, the owners, were very friendly and accommodating. -Fuller Photography Croswell, MI
