Richard's Family Restaurant is exactly that, a local, family run restaurant that is good for family's. The portions are huge and prices very affordable. The menu is very extensive and they also have a lot of daily specials (Everyone should be able to find something they like). Most meals come with soup, salad or coleslaw and dessert is included (rice pudding, jello or an ice cream drumstick). They bring a bread basket with pumpernickel bread and bread sticks. There are additional desserts you can order for a charge. We had a birthday party for a 93 year old and brought in cupcakes and apple strudel to celebrate. The staff was very accommodating (bringing us plates and forks, without being asked) and had no problem with us eating the "outside" desert. The service is friendly and efficient and the food was served hot (contrary to other reviews). They have a bar and a separate dining room for overflow groups and/or parties. There is also a separate bar area with a tv and additional seating if you want to watch something while you eat and enjoy a drink. This is by no means an upscale gourmet restaurant with a romantic atmosphere. It is a typical family diner with good food, good prices and a friendly staff. The appearance is a little shop worn but the food more than makes up for that. If you are looking for a good meal at a reasonable price you should give Richard's Family Restaurant a try.
