“Nice room, service”
Reviewed 17 August 2012 via mobile

Clean, comfy. Had a single efficiency this time but had shared 2 bedroom suites in the past. Efficiency had full size fridge, 2 burner range, dishwasher, disposal, basic dinnerware & cookware. Breakfast buffet with hot food, dinner buffet nightly. Nice outdoor pool & sitting area. We use this hotel every year while in the area on business. Very accommodating staff. Walking distance to good restaurants, walking path nearby.

Booked this from the airport as got stuck at DTW due to bad weather. All airport hotels sold off.

When I landed, got to know the system showed room availability and sent me a confirmation though actually there were none available. Not a good thing to know at 11 pm!

Check in staff and the manager conferred on phone and offered me a room with ineffective Air Conditioning that was available. They waived off all room charges, took a fan to the room, and gave me free access to the Market Place. They added some bonus points to my Marriott Rewards account too!

In the morning, before I could get hold of my cab, the manager even offered to drive me to the Airport. Though I did get my cab later and did not take up the manager on his offer to drive me to the Airport, the staff at this Hotel overall went all out to recover from a situation due to a system error with the reservation, and I did feel they tried hard to do the best they really could in the situation.

Thank you very much for taking the time to write a review about your experience. The issue with the system selling a room that we did not have is very rare and I am very thankful that we were able to have you leave with a good impression of our hotel. The next time you are in the Detroit area I hope you give us another opportunity to make a good impression.

I stayed here one night on business. It's certainly a better option than its dilapidated corporate cousin, the Marriott Livonia; it provided a suitable stay.

I had a very late (~1a) arrival and was met by a courteous front desk worker who quickly checked me in. Parking was plentiful and the lot was well-lit.

My room was OK -- it was in fine condition but could use a refresh soon in terms of decor. The bed was standard-issue Residence Inn -- not fabulous, but acceptable. I was irritated by my coffee pot -- it was completely broken; all of the water stayed in the filter housing and only a few drips of coffee got made! I did appreciate that the towels were very thick and of very high quality.

Overall, it was fine -- did its job without too many problems. When I return to the area, I can't say I'll immediately make a reservation here without checking out other properties, but I also would stay here again given competitive rates, etc.

What a great surprise this was! I usually stay at the Sheraton up the street, but they were sold out. The rooms are all suites with a kitchen, dishwasher, fridge, living room, etc. The bedroom and the living room are seperate, with a door in between. Nice for privacy and or a light sleeper. The price was good considering the area its in, alot of the hotels are about the same price as this one, yet with Residence Inn you truly get your moneys worth. Rooms that are twice the size of a normal hotel room, between 600-700 square feet. In addition to the hot breakfast which serves eggs and sausuage, Monday thru Thursday there is a complimentary dinner and drinks in the lobby. Theres a tv inside the living room and inside the bedroom! How amazing is that! Kids can watch cartoons on one and dad can watch the game on the other! These types of rooms would be considered upgraded suites/rooms at other hotels, I'm very happy that I paid just a standard rate for so many amenities and all the extra space! The staff was great, everybody was so friendly, even the housekeepers went out of their way to say hello. The lady who checked me in I think her name was Rosalind? was outstanding and very thorough explaining all the amenities of the property.

Room Tip: Higher up floor the better.

My daughters volleyball team stayed here thisn past weekend for a 2 day volleyball tournament. I was in charge of reserving all the rooms(9 in total). From reserving the rooms on this hotel was so very accomodating! Starting with Sarah the Account Manager e mailing me and asking me a few questions like if we were all going to be checking in together as a group, how many people were going to be in each room, and stuff like that so she could make sure they were ready for us and fully staffed. WOW...way to be prepared! When we were checking in the lady at the desk was so very nice. She told us that the free hot breakfast started at 7AM on weekends but they knew our team had to leave a little before that so they were going to try to get it out early so we could enjoy it. She said at the very least the bagels, cereal, and cold stuff would be out for us. Both saturday and Sunday all the hot food was out and ready and waiting for us! So nice of them to go out of their way for us. The rooms are wonderful....especially if youa re staying more than 1 night. Having the full fridge and kitchen stuff made life easier since we needed to have food to bring to the tournament each day. It was also nice having the bedrooms seperated from the living room.

I WILL make sure to stay in this hotel for every up coming volleyball or whatever trip I need to make to that area. Never have I been so impressed with a hotel!

Stayed here one night mid-week while attending a seminar. I got the 2 bedroom/2 bath suite and shared it with a business colleague. It was great because we were able to sit together in the living room to talk business, but had our own bedroom/bath for privacy.

This was not the typical Residence Inn style of 2 bedroom suites that I have stayed in before. But I liked it better. The style that I am used to has a loft bedroom/bath. This was all one level and seemed to have just as much space.

I am so glad to hear that you and your coworker enjoyed your stay here at the Residence Inn Livonia! Your feedback is greatly appreciated and I am glad that our two bedroom suite suited your needs. The room that you are referring to with the Loft is what we call a "Penthouse suite". That style of suite is often found in the older generation of Residence Inn's and Marriott has switched to the Two Bedroom as they continue to build new hotels. Thank you again for your feedback and we hope to see you the next time you are in the Livonia area.
