My husband and I stayed here for a late-winter get-away. Kathy was great in taking reservations and deftly asking good questions that would help make our stay better.
We arrived to discover a once grand victorian in need of some work. I know it is difficult to keep up these old grand homes. This one needs a paint job and a good cleaning inside. All that being said, Kathy is very nice and put out a good breakfast and gave us a quick tour of the other rooms in the house and a bit of the history.
We stayed in the upstairs Master's (the Great Lakes Victorian) room and I slept well in the king-sized bed. It had soft-jersey sheets on it. The room felt private enough and the street sounds didn't bother us. The room had a fireplace, but we didn't light it. The room also had whirlpool tub but no shower. The tub is nice for one person to relax and the bathroom is tucked into a very small space. A few of the light fixtures were missing bulbs which was odd, but didn't detract from the stay. I loved sitting in the sunny turret in the room.
Would we stay here again? Maybe, but not pay so much for a room.More
